i went into my 14yrold daughters room at 3am this morning.
she wasn't sleeping--she was in a backbend position, sweating, hufffing and her nude body was dripping in sweat.
i asked her why she isnt sleeping, and she said that the backbend will work her back muscles.
she told me she's been in this "suffering position" for almost 6 straight hours now.
she told me to make it harder for her.
she told me to sit on her tummy and try push her down
but, she could resist my body-weight and i sat on her for 40 minutes and she resisted.
then she told me to take 10 needles and pierce through her belly.
i DID NOT do that. instead, i left her room and went to bed.
i went back into her room @ 5;30am and told her it's time for school.
she got down from the backbend.
her face, breasts, neck, back, abs (yes she has abs), legs, "private places," feet, back, and butt---her whole body-- was soaked.
she did 9-hour backbend (with some resitance)
is she becoming bullimic? what do i do?

she has abs (because she does a rigorous 3-hour routine every-day)
her legs, arms, and asss are firm and muscular.
she has 6.5% bodyfat.
her weight is 100 lbs.

her back is the only area of her body that doesn't look like a body-builder's physique. and she probably though that a night of self-torture would solve that problem

maybe she did it b/c i do a 30 minute back-bend every day (which is OK for me)

After looking at some of your questions it made me realize that maybe the reason your daughter is like this is because of what you do. Maybe the 2 of you would benefit from some counseling. But in the mean time, she is going to destroy her growing muscles - don't let her do this. Good luck to you both :)

Or you could just be full of $h!t!

Sounds very serious to me too. Call the doctor and tell them what happened and maybe they can give you advice over the phone. He is probably going to want her to see a specialist of some kind anyway so maybe you can avoid the middle man visit. I've heard of the cutting, pulling hair out, the piercing, the EMO kids, the ELMO kids (LOL) and just about everything else I THOUGHT. This is new. You know bullimic is puking up food. Is she eating?

I don't think she is bullimic because then she would be throwing up her food. It just sounds like she wants to be fit. I would take her to the doctor so they can make sure she is healthy, but I dont think I would really worry about it. As long as she is eating, not throwing up, and otherwise conducting in normal activity I think she is fine.

She has a problem and you aided her problem by sitting on her stomach! What kind of message does that send to your child? You should of forced her to stop doing that rather than just walking away and going to bed. If you are any kind of mother you would take her to the doctor immediately and not allow her to do such things any more. Maybe she has a bad body image because you let her do these things to herself! Shame on you!

Sounds like exercise bulimia! You should take her to a therapist. Dont go to a MD because they never understand. I had a friend that was anorexic and her mother took her to the doctor and he said that her weight wasn't low enough and to go home and eat some food.

She needs help and so do you..why would you encourage it by sitting on her for 40 mins, allowing her to be up so late doing this and answering no so calmly when she asked you to stick needles in her? Once you entered her room and saw what she was doing a light bulb should of switched in your head to stop it not just go back to bed..BOTH of you need prof. help.

oh no! is she becoming obsessive about her weight or something. its no good for anyone let alone a 14 yr old girl. take her to drs, find out what she's thinking up there in her head and if she cant talk to u, then tell her to talk to sum1 she can talk to. its sumhow easier talking to strangers like counsewllers. hope it helps and please make sure she's osrted b4 things get any worse. take care

sounds to me like she may be a bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to her body. She needs to see a doctor & the doctor may recommend a psychiatrist.
