It is a difficult but joyfull process to convert to judiasm, unlike islam or christianity it can't be done in just five minutes. You typically need a year or two of study under the guidance of a rabbi. You will need to attend services, and learn the history and culture of judiasm. It is best to convert orthodox, as that is the strictest level of judiasm and the most torah observant. Conversion at the orthodox level and you will be considered jewish by all jews and the state of israel. As stated before, you will probably be rebuffed by a rabbi 3 times. We want you to be completely serious before converting.
upon conversion you will be considered 100% jewish as though you had been born jewish.
YOu will belong to a 5000+ year old religion/culture, that emphasises learning, teaching, civic service, arts, humanities, charity, science, medicine, and business.
You will belong to a religion/culture that has influence far beyond its numbers.
It is not easy, you most likely will face some anti-semitic discrimation, and be part of a group that is blamed for non-sensical things.. that said I choose to stay jewish every day...

Talk to a Rabbi. It is usually a year long process. After a year you will go into a Mikvah and come out a Jew. There is a naming ceremony usually a short time after the Mikvah to receive a Jewish name. Reform, Conservative and Orthodox have different standards, but all roughly follow this approach.
My daughters (who were not born Jewish) have all converted so feel free to email if you have other questions.

The one thing that wasn't mentioned to you in Answer #2 is that the rabbi will turn you away at least 3 times. It is only if you are persistant and show that you are dedicated to this path that he will permit you to convert.
You should be prepared to be told that you are fine as you are, and that you should just live as a righteous Gentile. If you are Jewish you will face anti-semitism, is that really something you can handle in your life?

Try askmoses.com, they're usually really helpful with this sort of thing.
For future notice, the whole "3 times you'll get turned away" thing isn't always done.
