Yes, if one believes ALL life is precious, it follows that they should be against the death penalty, but of course, people can rationalize anything....

Ok, this is just my opinion. You probably won't agree with me, but, hey you asked. Ok, I am against abortion, to a degree. There are certains cases where abortion is permissible to me. Take this case for example: A 12 year old retarded girl was raped and got pregnant. Should she get an abortion? Yes, if that is what her parents want. I am sure that people will say but it's a baby, you can't punish the baby. But, what about the girl? It's only an opinion. Now if someone is a whore and they are just spreading their legs and using abortions as a form of birth control, then that is wrong. OK getting to the death penalty. For it, all the way. Why? keep in mind that I have 2 kids, and if someone hurts my kids, I will kill them. Enough said bout that. I am a christian and I love God with all of my heart. If I am wrong in my opinions then God will deal with me. Have a great day.

I have a neighbor who is very religious. He recently went to work in a prison with sex offenders. I asked him, do you not find this difficult. To which he replied "you must look at them through the eyes of God".

If you are one to believe in every life being sacred then how could you possibly be for the death penalty and against abortion. No matter which way you cut it they are both a human life. You can't pick and choose who is worthy of life. Last time I checked that was God's job.

Not only that, they should be doing more to prevent 'spontaneous' abortions. If these people are serious that every fertilized ovum is a human life to be protected, then married women of child bearing age should all be on welfare. That way they can lay down and rest, giving those fertilized ova a chance to implant in the uterine wall. If the mothers have to go out and work, chances are the activity will cause a spontaneous abortion, killing the baby. SAVE THE ZYGOTES!

I think so. Some innocent people have had the death penalty. People who were delivered from their demons & were born again still had the death penalty. I don't think any Christian seeking God on it could push the electric button, or poison injection. But under the law, it is okay. I wouldn't judge those that do it. The law of sin and death. It might sway other potential murderers from becoming a murderer.

i'm no fundie and am anti abortion yet help the dying penalty in many situations and so does the Church. in case you do no longer want a dying penalty nice yet don't be judging lest you be Judged. i've got copied a answer to the dying penalty from the Catholic view from EWTH question and answer website...........Your chum is actual, it is, the Hebrew makes use of a word meaning homicide, meaning, an intentional unjust act of killing. All homicide is the taking of harmless existence yet no longer all killing is homicide. valid acts of killing comprise: self-protection, risk-free practices of yet another harmless individual particularly in case you have duty for that individual (one among your toddlers, a miles spouse, a determine), an police action, a militia action in a basically conflict, a lawful execution of a criminal, and so on. there's a great possibility is collapsing all styles of killing into the commandment against homicide. Examples of homicide comprise abortion, an intentional killing of an harmless individual. a great distortion has occured in yoking at the same time genuinely the stunning to the unborn to risk-free practices and an alleged stunning of convicted criminals to 3 meant absolute stunning to existence--no longer so! thank you, Marvin Father Echert

That's like comparing apples to oranges. Abortion is the taking of an innocent life who has committed no wrong. The death penalty is carried out against someone who has been convicted of a heineous crime. It is not contrary for anyone, Christian or not, to be against the one and for the other.

In that sense, if you read the bible, no, they wouldn't be. An adult making a conscious decision to kill another person and then later receiving the death penalty is a bit different than aborting a fetus that is not conscious of it's actions yet.
Now, if you had asked that question and switched "Christian" with "Pro-Lifer"... DEFINITELY! Pro-life means ALL life. But the bible gives loopholes for that stuff lol

I think yes they should be, but the hole abortion thing isn't that big of a deal, some people can't take care of a kid, and i have a lot of friends out of foster homes and there foster parents most of them treat them like **** and just use them for the monthly pay check from the state, and a few of my friends have had abortions and the reason they did it is because they knew there was a 85% chance they were going to be FAS or boron addicted to coke so you tell me what should they have done?

Not necessarily. Typically, unborn children are not convicted criminals. So there is a MAJOR difference there.

You may have some thoughts confused. The Commandment is "Thou shall not murder." In context, "murder" and "kill" mean different things. "Murder" in this sense means to take an innocent life. This is different than say "killing" somebody by the death penalty.

However, I'm anti-abortion and anti-death penalty. And in neither case does the individual need to be a Christian.

In the bible it does say an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. I am against abortion for my own reasons. There are people out there that can't have babies, who desperatly want one and there are people out there that don't give a crap about a life. Someone who has slaughtered other people should get the death penalty. Seriously, would you want someone out on the street who was released that had killed somone brutily?? I know I wouldn't.
