Why does he take out his physical and mental shortcomings out on nice folks?

He's sad and lonely that there are so many happy, contented people and he's an unemployed, unloved, ignored wackjob creep with no friends.
The negative response from people is better to him than no human interaction at all.
Kinda pathetic, really.
