If he owns a landscaping business, he should have quite a few licenses. He should have a valid business license, depending on the state you live in, he may have to have a contractor's license (for instance, in California anyone who does work on personal property where the job cost totals more than five hundred dollars is required to have a contractor's license before legally doing the work), the state may require that he have certifications as a landscaper, etc, so you can find out real quick if he actually is who and what he says he is just by asking the right questions.

Even if he is, though, this guy sounds like a wreck. I don't think you have to even consider whether you're gay and want to have this guy pawing and drooling at you, honestly. It sounds like a crap job even if it is landscaping. I mean, what're the odds that a guy who seems to be living out of his car can PAY you? Do you think he has the required insurance if you get injured? What about the unemployment insurance? Figure he's giving up his home to pay that?

Nah. Guy's a bad boss at best, a scam artist in all likelihood, and liable to get you in some situations where you may not have a choice about where your pants end up relative to you, and you don't want that. A real employer doesn't go driving around trying to hire kids under the board and off the record by offering them cash for their strapping young bodies.* Period.

You are absolutely right. Better safe than sorry. Feel free to be a "mama's boy" and tell the 'rents so they can protect you from the lowlife. That's what they're there for, and besides, I haven't met a parent yet who wasn't ecstatic to have yet another piece of evidence their son liked girls.

If you want a job in landscaping and you're very young and inexperienced in it, you should probably start out applying for jobs at established nurseries so you can learn all about the plants and how to take care of them... then start doing landscaping jobs once you know that. It'll get you a lot farther than being the grunt who mows the lawns will.

If that's not your thing, then you're young enough to still have options about what you want to do to get some experience. Believe it not, a LOT of employers like to see McDonald's on your resume because as a rule, they don't hire you or keep you unless you do good work, and they have great training, so there are plenty of better options out there than this guy's offering you.

*Before anyone starts saying I'm a homophobe for suggesting gay guys might go around acting like that when they shouldn't, I'm 100% USDA queer, and I happen to think treating young guys that way is just reprehensible regardless of whether or not they're gay. They have a right to be who they are and go about their lives in peace just like everyone else, without having to worry about who's trying to trick them into a car on the side of the road.

First thing man is not to have any contact with him at all! Yes I agree with one of the previous answers: "Find a different Cop". You might want to check out your local molester page and find out if he's on it and that might give you more admonition when you speak with the authorities again.

If he continues to solicit tell him your not interested, it's not worth it. Continue to try and talk to the police if he continues to try and contact you. Stay away from him. good luck!

Stay away from this trash. If it looks like trash and smells like trash, it probably is.
