why are some people here on yahoo answers so ignorant,especially wen it comes to islam?

if you look at my questions section i put a question regarding men marrrying 4 wifes and within the question there was an artle to be read on it and post people's views, many didnt even read the article and instead put up stupid ignorant answers, why ppl so ignorant?

People on yahoo answer are not ignorant. If you look through the answers, there are some very good ones. Islam is a subject people know very little about so you might not get the kind of answers/responses you are seeking given you seem to know a lot more about the subject. However, this doesn't make anyone ignorant, just uninformed.. i guess.

None of the Muslim men I know have ever married more than one woman. They are extremely devoted and faithful to only one wife.

Some Muslims that are extremely wealthy (and live overseas)take advantage of this allowance, but that's because most of them are materialistic and just want to own everything, including their women. However, this is NOT practiced by the majority.

what i hav understood so far is non-muslims esp.westerners their "knowledge" with regard to islam is limited to osama,saddam,iraq,iran and maybe the name of iran's president (i am not betting on it).
but there might be few who might be more informed...

i don't waste my time trying to bring down other religion beliefs or whatever questions that come relating to it(even though i might not believe in it)..

but at times i find ppl react in kind of childish manner.. which is sad...b'coz all they are thinking of us muslims are as "suicide bombers" or something of that sort...

personaly , i don't know anybody frm my fmily who hav more than 1 wife.... at that time having 4 wives were actually a small no.!!!they use to hav actually more than that!!!

and i would probably go thru the roof , if my would be husband come up with such a idea..

and girl... don't take it so seriously...... ok....

Have you ever thought that a lot of people do not really want to learn about Islam? Islam has a really bad name around the world. I am not saying whether it is deserved or not. Have patience. Being angry will not help at all.

Islam is not a widely understood religion in the west. Yahoo only magnifies what is common misconceptions of Islam.

In 1 John 2:22 it says that those who believe as islam are anti-Christ and that the allah of islam can not be God.

I suspect the ignorant among us are those who follow false teachings and gods.

in my school my Christain teacher had a chapter of Islam and Muslims that we studied. I knew nothing about Islam before. Now I know alot more thanks to him. Some people are lazy and arent open to new ideas. Congrats standing up. I'll try to look at your questions.
