I go on fruit fasts.
You eat only one kind of fruit per day but as much as you want.
No bananas.
I like grapes, watermelon, apples, papaya, mangos and others.
After 2-3 days it gets much easier and the pounds melt off.
It helps remove impurities in your GI track and keeps your brain from thinking you are starving. I lost 35 pounds.
I stayed on it 3 weeks and that was enough.
Now, I do it for 3-5 day intervals just to keep my insides clean.
Good luck!!

Why is it that everyone wants the quick fix? This question reminds me of a quote I heard the other day... "I will do anything in the world to lose weight EXCEPT - diet and exercize."
Honey, I'm a mother of 2 and all I can tell you is to relax a bit. Remeber - it took you the better part of a year to put on the extra weight, you probably will not get rid of it in 2 weeks. We can't all be like Denise Richards, or Heidi Klum. They are 2 very lucky women that have had the combination of the right genetic make-up, personal trainers, chefs, and lo-and-behold time to dedicate to themselves to get back into shape.
In fact, by not having the extra money, as you say, in itself could be the best diet. Don't spend the little you have on fast food, (even the kind you get at the supermarket!) Preparing smaller portions with lots of fruits and veggies for snacks. Also, keep in mind - exercising needs no money. Also, don't forget to drink at least 1 gallon of water a day.
Good luck. (By the way the - "I'm broke diet" has helped me lose over 40 lbs. each after my 2 girls were born.)
Blessed be.

You could go to your local library and there may be books of exercising with your baby. I have seen those kind of books before at book store. The library should have many different types of exercise for new mothers. But the best advise is walking and eating smaller portion, which someone has already shared that with you. My daughter lost her weight by breast feeding, I am not sure if that is an option or not. But do some research and i am sure you can get back into what your idea weight is. Good luck.

Walking or jumping jacks are easy to do. You can keep 2 cans beside the computer and lift those when you check email, rotating arms. Or hold onto the back of the couch and do squats. I personally like to walk/ run in place in front of the tv. I get to watch my shows and stay off my butt at the same time. Then turn around, hook my feet under the couch during commercials, and do sit-ups. Push-ups are easy and free too. Pretty much anything that gets you moving can help. even doing arms lifts as you hold your baby. I liked to put my baby on my legs and use her as a weight for a few different leg excersises. She giggled and Mommy got a work-out!

I'm in the same boat as you. My daughter was born in Feb. I receintly cut refined sugar out of my diet. I'm trying to do that for 2 weeks. I had done it sucessfully in the past and lost 5 lbs!! I am also trying to walk or jog every day. If there's a second hand store around you could get some exercise videos pretty cheap. I know it's hard, but walking is the easiest and cheapest. Also try to eat right. God Bless

when i wanted to lose some weight, i cut the red meat out of my diet. buying chicken and other white meat actually saved me some money since beef is more expensive. at the same time i cut out candy, sodas, and things like that. i lost 20 pounds without adding any exercise. later on, i started walking and i lost a little more weight.
also - eat when your hungry, not because you have to. if you eat six or seven little things throughout the day, it will keep your metabolism up.
if you decide to do this, you will need to take a daily multivitamin so you will get the nutrients that would have come from red meat.
finally, check out www.mypyramid.gov
it will help you build a personalized food pyramid to meet YOUR needs, plus it's absolutly free.

Put it this way, don't eat anything you wouldn't be willing to feed your baby. For example, you wouldn't feed your kid a Big Mac value meal right? Eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. Go for walks, leave the stroller at home and carry the baby. Be active as much as possible. Seeing you have a newborn you should be used to not getting much sleep so use your time effectively and eat healthy, no crappy junk food.

When i had the gestational diabetes, the diet they give for that will help you loose weight. It's the right amount of protein, fat, sugar (almost none) etc. Type in gestational diabetes and see what comes up. It's hard to loose, I know I have 25 pounds to still go.

i was actually watching an episode of oprah, and this woman had recently had a baby and she used her baby as an exercise tool, so it was as if she were playin/ spending time with her son while also working out, also just try not to go to the refrigerator late at night for a sugary snack, and try to avoid sweets altogether, if you feel like you want some chocolate or something, have a SMALL piece and really savor it, its much more enjoyable that way. remember, deprivation does NOT work, EVER.

I think that you should go for a walk. If you have a C.D player listen to it while you walk. You have to eat veggies, fruit, and keep up on some meat to have some on your bones. Drink lots of water and walk for about 30 minutes each day. Until you see some physical change in your body that is when you know that it is working.
