well i have watched them for years play during breaks they get when building houses if space permits . does or has this leed to an increase in the popularity of soccer or is it the hot chicks on sports mags covers i am not sure or am i .hot chicks ,sports mags -mexicans - i vote hot chicks. I have been to several events in sports and a majority of the people in the stands paying to watch are white americans and few if any minoritys. So the trend in increased spending by white folks is the reason soccer is gaining in popularity not mexicans but nice try.Mexicans are a valued contributor to the american economy businesses under pay them greating more profits for white people. white people pay them to clean up behind them for little pay and want them to work for less then they pay white americans.white americans have more time to watch soccer games so mexicans are responcible for the increased intrest in soccer i guess--- it is so hard to know what the truth is. Why does it matter why or who is responcible it is another way for people to waste time in gladiator type arena's cheering in a collective voice further in-hancing the group mentality that has destroyed america. go to church work hard vote republican and the world is fine.just do what we say .
I choose to beleive what i have learned and not what i have been told little proof of religion identifing GOD and politicians only serve them selves and big business who gets them elected.Man is cruel in his treatment of others and will take advantage of anyone he can- so i say arm yourself and prepare for the revolution .WHEN our economy collapses under the realization we shipped all the jobs that built america overseas to make a buck comes back to haunt us it will be to late .We are blind to what is staring us in the face .service jobs are not the way to expand an economy we need to make something not shippit repackage it and sell it but make it . MONEY does not make more money as they want you to think it is a note for a debt public and private that debit is your work to make something of value.houses furniture clothes and food . transportation warehousing and storage, roads .power plants education public librarys and services to assit the people. The work is the only thing worth anything and it is devalued at every step where money changes hands getting smaller and smaller till it finaly reaches the workers hands as loos change and america will not take it much more.

I find a few flaws in your theories. Soccer never was popular. Baseball was always very popular, before it was televised or media would be a factor. I don't think commercials are a problem. Besides they'd find ways to add advertising. They've tried a few times, like in the 1970s to popularize soccer in the US. But it didn't take. I don't know of anyone that finds the sport "un-American". I think home grown sports are more popular in the US since there isn't a dominating culture. It's a melting pot, so when sports came together different groups had their favorites. So the sports the were invented together, were played together. Thus popularity grew. Basically, it's not that it's not liked or looked down on. Just other sports are more popular.

It has become more popular in the last decade and the populations of Mexican immigrants has continued to rise. You may have a point, I suppose.

I doubt it. The kids that can't make the football team or are afraid to get hurt play soccer. Its a minor sport in America like volleyball or tennis. In other words a "girlyman" sport.

Maybe. However, it has to be one of the most boring sports I have ever watched. Football, much more exciting.
