It is like a computer. Knowledge is what is stored on the hard drive, just simple memory, nothing else. Wisdom is how to use it, which is a program that analyzes the knowledge and makes the best decision with what you know. Wisdom wins of the two, but you need both. If you have no knowledge, it is hard to be wise.

Knowledge is a familiarity with the facts acquired by education, experience or observation. Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge successfully so as to attain set goals, avoid danger and solve problems. So knowledge tells you while you are in the forest: this is a tree. Wisdom tells you "this tree is excellent: it has bananas to serve as food, good wood to keep my fire going to keep me warm; and it will provide safety when I climb its branches to get away from that dangerous animal on the ground. Knowledge is a fine thing but if you do not know how to apply it (wisdom) what good is it?

Thanks for your question. You made me ponder because even though in my mind I know what you are trying to imply, I cannot exactly express my thoughts. But somehow I came up with this:

Knowledge makes one standout among crowds while Wisdom makes one righteous before God.

To me, knowledge is a matter of knowing the direction towards a certain destination while wisdom is assuring a safe voyage in reaching that destination.

Why should we all have wisdom aside from knowledge? Because wisdom is a human virtue that exalts life in the highest form. Wisdom is nature and is not proud or boastful nor it is a deterrent to the success of others. Wisdom is limitless that the human mind can never contain. Wisdom is your friend and mine and it has saved a lot of lives who befriended it.

Wisdom is God's gift to men, the very reason why wisdom must start with humility, humility that will teach one to spurn pretentions thereby enabling him to perceive reality clearly. Having a clear grasp on reality makes him to constantly adhere to what is true consequently opening his heart to be consistently fair and just, empowering him to render good judgment that would serve as guidance in achieving prudently sound decisions and therefore making him truly deserving to be called a WISEMAN.

A person 15 has more Knowledge than Wisdom... a person 55 has more wisdom than knowledge. Knowledge is based on education and studies, Wisdom is based on Experience.

Wisdom is the combination of knowledge and experience. Both are important. I think at this point in my life I have wisdom as well as knowledge.

Knowledge is just information you've assimilated and have access to.

Wisdom is the application of knowledge.

You have more knowledge, and you should be wise enough to use more of it. KNowledge without wisdom is useless. Kinda like an awesome hardrive with all the music and movies loaded, but no mouse to point and click and use the stuff.

Wisdom comes from experience but knowledge is information or undertanding something, becoming aware of something, learning why things happens. Both are good and goes together but I think knowledge is more important.

Knowledge would be the collections of the thing you know. Wisdom is the ability to make right decisions based on what you know.

Of course they are not the same. I say BOTH are equally important to me on my Path.

Wisdom is important.....but how do we gain wisdom?

From _applied_ knowledge.

It's one thing to know something, but another to APPLY that knowledge.

Wisdom is simply knowledge turned into action. :-)

Knowledge is accumulation and understanding of facts.
Wisdom is understanding of knowledge and implemetation of the same in a productive and useful way.
Between knowledge and wisdom "WISDOM" has the higher priority.

Good luck.
