My 4 year old son doesn't finish his drinks (milk, juice) throughout the day.?

Can this affect how much he eats and his appetite?

Is he finishing his meals? Drinks are just for thirst and hydration. (and milk for calcium) but if he's not finishing it, maybe hes already had enough. Just make sure he's eating proper balanced foods. He'll drink what he's thirsty for and stop when hes no longer thirsty. How often do you always finish YOUR beverages?

Don`t worry, he`s probably just not thirsty, in my son`s case he would rather fill up on juice rather than eat. We solved this by telling him that he could have a sip every 5 bites of food or after he ate. He was not happy at first but then he realized it was really no different (except this time he wasn't`t gulping down all his juice at once and leaving his food)

Maybe he doesn't want anymore. As long as he drinks throughout the day and isn't dehydrated then he's probably fine. Too much to drink @ meal time can make him eat less. I have to limit how much my toddler drinks throughout his meal or he will fill up on drink and not finish his meal.

Well the reason maybe that its just too much for him try giving him less.......and he is probably not that thirsty.......as long as he is eating than there is nothing to worry about......but just try to give him less to drink and the you will be able to figure out how much he drinks in a day!!!

These answers all sound good. It sound like your son is healthy,not all people are the same, and their metabolisms.
If it affects him adversely, he would probably not look healthy, be very skinny etc.
Sound like he will never have the problem many of us have of not knowing what is enough...

instead of giving him a whole glass of milk and such, give him half a glass of it.
