I'm looking to buy a saddle on ebay and need a saddle with a regular tree. Most saddles say they have medium trees and I was wondering if there was a difference between the 2.

Yes a regular tree and a medimum tree are almost the same. Not much of a difference. I run barrels in both types of saddles. They both work for me.

There is a difference in size, but until you kow for sure whzt that is, I wouldnt buy a saddle. Unless you buy a Wintec with an adjustable tree that also comes with the tree kit. That is the best way to go to see what best fits your horse. Plus Wintec adjust itself as the horses body fluctuates. The memory panels in the thing are incredible. Plus, they are not too expensive for a saddle, they clean easy, look good, aare comfortable, and last forever. I highly highly highly suggest this saddle, especially if you are new to purchasing saddles.

medium tree is a little wider but i think it would be hard to ride with a tree on the horse's back? lol just kidding.

yes there is. small trees are for skinny horses. large trees are for horses that are stocky or heavy and maybe have broad backs. you dont want to put a small saddle on a broad backed horse.
