I asked this very same question in my public journal on a dating site. The overwhelming response I got what that guys do not like to date women with children. This made me sad beyond belief. They responded with comments like: "I don't wanna date someone's mother." "Your children take focus and time away from the guy wanting to date you." "I'm not ready to be a father-figure."

I couldn't believe the things I read, but it seems that the majority of guys don't want a woman with kids. :( It's very sad to me, because I'm 25 and lonely and I don't want to be 35 and lonely some day.

Trying to look on the brightside, there ARE guys out there who don't mind kids. They're few and far between, but they are out there. There's even single dads out there. Have you tried dating sites? Those are great because you can get the fact that you have kids out of the way ahead of time. That usually the first subject I talk about with any guy, the fact that I have a child and if he's uncomfortable with it he shouldn't pursue me.

Good luck.

Don't give up hope! I am a single mom and I thought that I would never find someone special. I started to get scared of dating, because my daughter would get attached and when things didn't work out, it wasn't just my broken heart that I had to deal with, I had to help her get through the hurt too. But I have found someone really great. His mom treats my daughter likes she is her granddaughter. Some guys don't want the responsibility of a child when dating. Also when dating, don't make the mistake of assuming that the guy should automatically take up a father role. It's hard enough starting up a relationship that's one-on-one.
It's rough, but hang in there!

Because you offer a 1/2 family already wanting a visual Dad, so to speak of.

If you give the impression that you are only interested in finding a husband, men will see you as, only out for one thing. That is....To marry, divorce and collect 1/2 of what he already has.

Men see divorced women with kids, either two ways.

1.Not a good wife or potential wife, because she walked out

2.She's not one who will stick around, no matter what happens, so why would she be good for him.

Noone will ever love your child the way you do, and it adds a new aspect to the things that you need out of a relationship that women w/o kids don't have to think about.

well for me if i was single it would be hard for me cause you don't want to be just anyone, cause that person would affect your children. you want someone to love that can not only love you but your kids too.

Most guys don't want to take care of another's child. They want their own. Search for a guy that will accept you and your child. Good luck.
