They have test practice books out there on the market. Invest in one. As for confidence, you have to find that within yourself. Maybe this just isn't the right career choice for you. If you're positive it is, then the confidence will come when the time is right. It's also what Basic Training is for. Good luck!!

You can use test study guides online and at the library. Most recruiters have test prep software that you can take in the office, which prepare you for the ASVAB.

If you still can't pass the ASVAB, try the Marines. They are still part of the Department of the Navy, but have different requirements. However, Marine bootcamp is by far the hardest of all the services.
If you are not a tough sob, don't go Marine.

Ok, my step-son is a total bonehead with the IQ of a limp lettuce leaf and he still got a 63!! I ended up with a 98 and what you need to get a good quantitative score (your 35, hopefully)- is general science- like biology, chemistry, geology, etc- Arithmetic like word problems and stuff- mathematics knowledge (algebra, geometry, trig and calc type stuff)- vocabulary- and paragraph comprehension, which is just answering questions about simple things you just read. If you want a job working with mechanical stuff like working on planes, tanks or whatever, study up on auto/shop, mechanical, or electrical. Also, you can go to http://www.military.com and they have short and full length practice ASVABs. Keep in mind that after you DO score your 35, and you go to MEPS, depending on what you want as a job, you may have to take more tests, like the DLAB or something.

which parts are you doing poorly on? there are study aids availble at libraries or your local bookstore. brush up on whatever you need extra work on, whether its the math or language part.

The best thing to do is get a good night's rest and eat a nutricious meal with no alchohol the night before taking it.

The fact is, some people suck at taking tests, but this doesn't mean they aren't smart or don't know the material.

what the hell type of dickass answer is that? if you're gonna be a dick don't answer the question. as for the scores, take your weakest area and pratice hard, and work at it, and potassuim and a small amount of sugar always help before any type of test, potassium for memory, and sugar to stimulate the brain functions
