The bible clearly states that only 144,000 people will go to heaven yet every christian religon says that if you repent belive and get baptised you will go to heaven..if anyone out there can tell my why the bible and christioan religion differ i would love to hear this by the way you can find this number in luke.
Luke 12:32 shows that there is only a "little flock" that shares in the heavenly kingdom. Rev. 14:1 speaks of only 144,000 being with Christ in heaven. Rev. 5:10 brings out that they will be kings and priests "over the earth." Who will they rule over with Christ? Psa. 37:11, 29 shows that meek and righteous mankind will inhabit the earth. This follows the premise of what a kingdom actually is: a relatively small group of beings governing a much larger group. Of course, it would make sense that only those who have demonstrated their faith in God's promises in both word and deed would be chosen for that position.

I don't say it; but the majority(Matt.7:13) does! As for the 144,000; it never says that they will be going to heaven---this is a misunderstanding on people. It says they stood on the mount of Sion (Rev.14:1). Do you know where Mt. Sion is located? The Bible tells us in: Isaiah 10:12; 24:23; 31:4; 40:9; 59:20; 62:6-12; Zechariah 8:1-8: that it's on the earth.

Now the "little flock" (Matt.7:14)knows all about God's Word--I happen to be one of them. I was called by God(2Tim.1:9) into his church(Eph.4:4; 5:27; Acts 20:28).But anyway the saints will reign on earth(Rev.5:10; Dan.7:27); teaching and preaching to the one's about the true gospel message & will be reigning over cities(Isaiah 66:19; Matt.25:21-23,34).

Mostly the majority thinks they know; they can give you verses, but they don't understand. For instance: people site John 14:2-3; they think this is talking about heaven, but it's actually talking about the kindom of heaven on earth. If you really take a closer look at John 14:3: "I will come again, and receive you unto myself..." When Jesus comes back; he is going to Jerusalem on the Mt. of Olives(Zech.14:1-4). Now finish John 14:3 "...that where I am, there ye may be also." Look what Rev.20:9; the beloved city is Jerusalem. After the 1,000 yr. reign on earth; there's going to be a new heaven and new earth (2nd kingdom of heaven); the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven (Rev.21:1-4; Isaiah 65:17-19; 66:1,22).

If you really want to know more about this and other truth's---I really hope you see these sites down below. There's a False Christianity & a True Christianity.

First of all, almost all theologians -- all except the Jehovah's Witnesses, anyway -- believe that the 144,000 figure is only a metaphor. It divides by 12, the number of tribes of Israel in Biblical times.

I think you are correct in saying that "repent and believe" is not sufficient for entering Heaven -- though it obviously is a very good start.

As a Christian of the Catholic variety, I believe it a one-time declaration of belief in Christ is NOT sufficient for salvation. The Bible is clear, in Philippians 2 and elsewhere, that we must continually stay in God's grace -- in faith, which includes words and deeds -- in order to be saved.

There are many symbolic numbers within the book of Revelation. Apocalyptic writings used numbers in a symbolic manner, with certain numbers having a defined meaning.
To take these numbers literally, is to miss the teaching of the book and distorts the message. The numbers provide a literal truth, but the numbers themselves are symbolic.

For instance, the number:
"3" represents the Divine nature of God (e.g.- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

"4" represents the earth (e.g.- the four corners of the earth: north, south, east and west.

"6" represents humans number (e.g.- Man was created on the 6th day)

"7" represents the perfection of God, often connected with creation ("4" = "world" + "3" "divine").

"8" represents a rebirth or new beginning (e.g.- 8th day circumcision, 8 people on the Ark, etc)

"10" represents a number of completion or completeness.

"12" represents the number of God's Church (those people who call on His name (e.g.- 12 tribes, 12 Apostles, etc)

Oftentimes numbers are combined to produce further insight/meaning. The 144,000 is one such number.

12 * 12 * 10 * 10 * 10 = 144,000

The "12's" represent the OT & NT Church. That number is multiplied by the number of completeness ("10"), "3" times (representing the hand of God at work in sustaining His believers).

Therefore, the 144,00 is the number of God's people ("the church") represented in completeness via the Divine hand of God.

It's even worse than that--the 144,000 are Jewish men who have never "defiled themselves with women"! Thus, not only are women declared to be defiling, but they will not be among the ruling class, which will consist entirely of virgin men from the 12 tribes of Israel. (I challenge anybody to find that many virgin men anywhere in the world.) Christians, the unclean goyim, will have no part of this--they'll be the ones in subjugation. It seems that God will still play favorites with the Israelites, just as he did in the OT...yet we are told by Christians that God does not play favorites. Obviously, they fell asleep in Bible school during the lessons about "God's chosen people, the Israelites."

Luke 12:32, back then crowds were smaller so is considered little flocks.
Rev. 14:1, it says a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. its just saying they are there it doesnt say they are selected to go to heaven.
Rev. 5:10, No one will rule over Christ, its just saying they're will be kings and priests.
Psa. 37:11,29-it is comparing the wicked and righteous

Jehovah's Witness False Doctrine.

Talking about Jews here, not 144,000 Jehovah's Witnesses. Your Bible, The New World Translation, is NOT the word of God.
It's JW own translation of The Holy Bible to suit their false beliefs.

Never knew of any Pentacostals that believed that strickly JW doctrine. Hmmmm????

Christians are going to heaven because they have received Jesus into their hearts. Read John 3:16 and it says that when one receives Him into his heart, he has eternal life. In I John 5:13 it says that we are to know that we have eternal life and Jesus in the book of John that when He gives us eternal life, we will never perish. About the 144,000 people, it refers to them as being the people who will evangelize during the Tribulation and will win many souls to Christ. Jesus told His disciples that when He was going to ascend into heaven, He would prepare a place for them and that where He was, they would be there as well. Does that make sense. As far as the claims for being able to go to heaven, the Bible says that one gets saved through grace and not through works so that one will not boast about it. if one could boast about it, then Jesus did all what He did in vain.

Wrong again Jesus said as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be when he returns. Only eight people were saved during the flood and only one raptured (Enoch) before the flood. The 144000 is 12 thousand out of the 12 tribes which is Jews only! So in other words 99.9 percent of the world is going beyond the lower regions of Hades!

Maybe when jesus comes back and kills all of us heretics all the faithful that are left (all the ones I didn't take down to hell with me) will have a lottery and whoever wins gets to go to heaven. The rest of them can stay on earth and resume enslaving and killing one another like Jehovah tells them to.
I like when you present actual quotes from the bible that show how their god is pro-killing and such, it is always supposedly out of context. 'Oh you don't understand. You don't have the holy spirit.'
That might be true, but I know how to read and I know a tyrant when I see one.

It is sad when people believe false doctrine. We have a heavenly promise. Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: When we trust that the Lord Jesus Christ died for sins we are baptized into His body and seated in heavenly places with him. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: When the church age ends, the Lord Jesus Christ will catch up all the believers in the air and so shall be ever be with Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Don't trust in man's doctrine, believe God's Word and you to can go into heaven when He comes for us.
