Yes, I firmly beleive we should close the borders immediately!!! A couple of years ago the Australians sent a navy frigate to make sure that a boat load of immigrants did not enter, we should be this stringent, and has anyone ever seen how hard it is to emmigrate to a place like new zealand ( you have to show you would be of benefit to the country and if you want to start a business employ two nationals by the end of the first year) I do not accept the 'it helps the econonomy' argument put forward by sympathisers to these people. With unemployment at nearly 2 million nationwide now we should be saying that we will not allow any more in until a large proportion of these people are in work. If we need better skilled people then do more to train these people instead of giving handout after handout, I do feel that the country is becoming 'ghettoised' for want of a better word and this does not help multiculturalism in the least - it detracts from it and it is no particular factors fault (i.e everyone wants to live with people like them). Of course I sympathise absoloutley with genuine assylum seekers and the like, however the law states that they should seek refuge in the first safe country they get to, which should make us last in line. In doing what Blair & Co are doing at the momment we are just storing problems for the future - but then a Prime Minister who has already said he does not intend to serve another term in office is hardly going to worry about that now is he!!!

Absolutely yes. You as a nation have the right to decide who enters your country and who is allowed to become a citizen. Great Britain is a sovereign nation after all.

That's is like that old saying.
Whats the point in closing the barn door after the Animals have got out.
Closing our borders now after so many many have already entered the UK illegally to me sounds daft. But i would agree to be more particular who we let in from now on.

Only if you believe we apply the same choosy criteria to those we let out.

That way we could have the emmigration police board every flight or ferry to make sure that only people who meet your very exacting standards were allowed to travel.

you'd better do it now, because some day you'll have your very own mexicans trying to sneak in and change the history and everything about your country. DO IT NOW, WHILE YOU STILL CAN. 20 million dirty illegal mexicans is way to many. can you handle that many? remember, you have to feed them, clothe them, and give them shelter, cause there is no way they're going to work hard and get this stuff themselves. pretty soon you and your children will be speaking mexican, not spanish, but mexican. enjoy your future, full of poverty mexicans.
