You basically have to be honest... Have a lunch or something simple and talk with him...
Let him know, that he is a nice person, but that you are not sure if you are ready for a relationship right now. If you want to maintain a friendship, then let him know that...
GOOD LUCK.

If you weren't sure then why did you become invilved in the relationship in the first place? Is the age difference the only reason for your uneasiness? Whatever your reasons you need to be honest and tell him straight out, you caould make things complicated and painful by not being truthful.

Try being honest. Tell him what you just told us. You aren't sure if the age difference is a big enough issue to end the relationship. Try writing out the pluses and minuses of staying with him. See how it tallies up, then go from there.

well you should really date someone around your age. if your younder then 18 then you should be careful of who you date that is older then you. If your 19 or 18 I say date someone that is 1-3 years older then you that way you feel comfortable.

just tell the dude how you feel. say "i'm sorry our age difference is so far apart from eachother. maybe we should break up but we can still be good friends" simple as that. take him to a nice dinner and explain everything.
best luck!

if you are breaking up because of the number and not because of something he did or didn't do then you need help. I was 33 and she was 24 and it was the best relationship I had been in up to that time.
she loved me and I her but she hadn't grown up enough to commit to any one guy. and that's why it didn't work. it wasn't because of the numbers.

If you are already in it, then you need to let him know you want to move on and not string him along.
