4 cats sounds fine to me, but I love cats. :) Some people just don't enjoy cats, much less that many. Talk to your dad and see what he thinks. If you promise to do all the caretaking of these cats, KEEP YOUR PROMISE. If they throw up or poop somewhere, YOU have to deal with it. Keep that in mind. Good luck!

I think it may be a bit of a trick to pull off, but you can probably do it if you commit to them. Since you'll have a lot of cats in a fairly small space, add some vertical climbing structures for them. These don't take up much room horizontally and offer a lot of fun and exercise for the cats. Also, get some fun cat toys and encourage the kitties to play together so that they'll have something to do when you're not at home.

I don't know if you don't have any cats yet or if you are looking for your fourth, but you don't have any yet it would probably be best to get one at a time. This way, if you're pressed for time and space with two or three cats, you can hold up on getting another.

I had four cats at one time in a two bedroom condo and we got along just fine. I did have two litter boxes and I cleaned them daily. It's not just about paying for their needs, it's being able to give them each some attention and being responsible for the daily care !! If you're doing this to convince your family it may take more than just words - you gotta show that you can do this.

Not a problem at all if you're a clean freak, ok a person who likes a clean and bug free environment.

Had 5, yes FIVE cats in a one bedroom apt near the beach, 3 dogs, a rabbit , and aquarium a while back in SF.

No kidding!

So, as you can see your place is huuuuuge and definitely acceptable for all to hide and seek!

Be aware of local pet ordinances. It may be illegal to have more than 3 cats. Check with shelter. And they may have to be registered.

All lived happily for we loved and gave them our best!!

i live in a 2 bedroom apt and have 7 cats. keep your apt clean and keep the litter changed and you will be fine. unclean people living with animals makes for a stinky place, but if you are a clean person keeping up with the maintenance and housework, your condo should be fine. make sure to vacuum the furniture a couple of times a week and clean the kitty litter 2x's a day. wash bedding once a week and clean up any messes immediately. good luck.

Probably, sounds like enough space for 4 li'l critterz. I'd suggest multiple litter pans to prevent bacteria..and changing them often. Also make sure they have a healthy food/diet...being you have many cats, you want to avoid urinary tract infections/stool bacterias, and kidney stones. Those things are sometimes related to multiple cat households...I do not know why. If your dad is paying, you're not exactly taking all the responsibility, but caring for them is hard work too* lol.

Good luck :)

That is a lot of cats you have but if you are looking after them properly and change the litter each day then you should find that your house does not smell. You must change litter often and wash their beds once a week. This is what I do with my cat. I have two Dogs too and I wash their beds once ever three days and bath them once every two weeks. Keeping animals clean is good for your home as it wont smell.

Four cats is fine. Just make sure to keep things clean. I have 3 cats in a two bedroom mobile home. I make sure to scoop the cat box daily (I have 2 cat boxes in my home). Once a week empty all of the cat litter out of the box, and scrub it out. I also make sure that all the floors are swept daily, and the furniture is vacuumed.

I had 3 cats in a 2 bedroom mobile home. It was fine. As long as you keep up with the litter boxes (I had 2), and you need to keep up with the vaccuuming, alot of cat hair can fall off 4 cats. :)

I've had 5 in a two-bedroom apartment. You just need to be very dilligent with the litter pans and the vacuuming, and careful that all of the cats get along since they won't have as much space of their own.
