Instead of saying hello, what would you prefer to say when you answer the phone?

I'm not sure...but it's kind of funny that we continue to say "hello" in these days of caller ID. More often than not, we know the person calling. But I - and many others - still answer with the generic greeting, and even still sound questioning, like we don't know who it is.

I used to say "Moshi moshi" (That's how the Japanese answer the phone!) but people just kept thinking I was saying "washing machine" and I got tired of explaining. So, I say a hello that sounds more like "Yello".

Business like...Good morning/afternoon, then state name of office/business.

Fun like...(works when you have caller id)...say you recognize that Bob is calling...then you answer and say "Hi...is Bob there?" Really freaks them out...a great laugh

I like to say.."Grande central station, who are u trying to reach" some people hang up : ) Or hola..or Mose summer home sum r home sum r not..lol..I know, corny...I do it for that reason..the stupider the better eh...

I say "Aloha!" I don't know why I started to do that...Occassionally I will say "Gutentag?" or "Biongiorno!"

or if the caller says hello so most probably wat i do say is "chalo" which in Urdu(Pakistan's Mother tongue) means LETS GO
