Man-Eating Dog = a dog that eats men
Man Eating Dog = a man eating a dog

The Hyphen makes ALL the differrence. It joins the man to the eating which makes it one describing word. Without the hyphen it is two seperate words and a different meaning. Get it???

It means that it's probable a not so friendly dog and if somebody went into his yard he'll most likely attack the person.
