Because the Abram story is fairly early on in the Koran, it starts to seprate "us and them" as well as seperating christians, jews, and muslims.

At first they are put in the same category with a but, however that changes to us and them later.

Very often one will here the Arabic word "Allaah" being used in regards to Islam.

The word "Allaah" is simply the Arabic word for Almighty God, and is the same word used by Arabic speaking Christians and Jews.

If one were to pick up an Arabic translation of the Bible, one would see the word "Allaah" being use where the word "God" is used in English. Actually, the Arabic word for Almighty God, "Allaah", is quite similar to the word for God in other Semitic languages - for example, the Hebrew word for God is "Elah".

For various reasons, some non-Muslims mistakenly believe that Muslims worship a different God than Jews and Christians. This is certainly not the case, since the Pure Monotheism of Islam calls all people to the worship of the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all of the other prophets. However, even though Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God -since there is only one God - their concepts concerning Him differ in some significant ways.

You must remember that Abraham's true firstborn was ISHMAEL, son of Hagar, the Egyptian servant of Sarah. Ishmael was the progenitor of Ishmaelites [now known as Arabs] who also had his twelve princes -- similar to the twelve tribes in his younger brother's lineage, ISAAC, which became the Jewish nation eventually.

God/Allah, our Heavenly Father, be praised!

Peace be with you...

Look, the word Allah simply means God... Even Arab christians in their bible use the word Allah... it just means God... God in English is Allah in Arabic, is Khoda in Farsi........

And Don, you don't know if Muhmmad was a liar anymore than you don't know if Jesus or Moses or Abraham was a liar..... we don't know anything... those people are now DEAD! we just have to trust our own faith and know one thing that God created all of them as he did us and stick to the main road.........

Ah, religion sucks... all it does, is segregate people. But if we all beleive in God, we will all be the same and undevided! Who cares who we believe in God though as long as we have faith in him.

What do you mean he wasn't Arabic?

According to the bible, he was from Ur in what is now Iraq.

The question is how did an Arab morph into a Hebrew?

Abraham had a son named Ishmael.
Through him, the Arabs descended.
Obviously they revere Ishmael.
They would also like to revere Ishmael's father and call him one of their own.
So they stick all their paraphanelia onto him ...its convenient.
