Since Christianity is a religion founded on the scriptural texts of Judaism, and is the primary religion of the West, Judaism's concepts of G-d and the Law have had a great influence.

Despite what some may say about Judaism inheriting it's moral and ethical system from the Baybylonians and/or Sumerians, Judaism's montheistic, moral-centric character far precedes those society's in history.

Although the 10 commandments were given solely to the Jewish nation, western society has adopted them as being a good influence.
Among the Jewish laws was Leviticus 12:1-4.
Please note the 7 and 33 days add up to 40.
Italian Jews isolated sick people for what they called "quaranta" days (40 in Italian).
This is how the idea of quarantine got its start.
Numbers 19:13 speaks of the importance of washing one's hands.
Look up Dr.Semmelweisse in an encyclopedia.
Thanks to his knowledge of Jewish law, doctors now wash their hands.
And that's just the medical aspect.

The Sumarians and Babylonians influenced western culture more than did the Hebrews or "Jews." Hebrews adopted their beliefs from the Sumerians, Babylonians and others.

Additional coment:

The US government is based on Sumerian, Babylonian, Greek, Roman and English evolved laws. It is not based on the bible or Hebrew culture. When the US was founded, "Jews" were outcasts, so it is highly unlikely the founding fathers would have looked to "Jews" for inspiration..

We're largely monotheists not polytheists like Hindus for once. Our money reads, In GOD we trust, not in 'gods'. As for morality, most westerners believe in some sort of life after death where you get what you deserve. The idea of reward and punishment affects our daily lives.
