Having someone in love with you is a lot of responsibility. It means that you are uniquely able to affect that person's feelings. Any little thing that you say or do can make them feel insecure so you have to watch what you say and you feel responisible for their happiness or misery.

It also implies that the relationship has moved on from 'a bit of fun' to something that has consequences and a future, so a whole load of other things to worry about.

I can see why your lover isn't desperately keen on adding love into the mix of unhappy marriage with lover on the side. Its just all a bit too much. Too many emotions, too many people's feelings and lives on the line. Now he has two women that love him and depend on him; that is a lot of responsibility.

I really hope things turn out well for you. Make sure you are looking after yourself and your kids first and for most; don't worry about the men too much until you've got your side of things under control.

Sorry but it seems you wre testing the waters or have moved from an affair to something more serious? On the other hand my lover said the same that.she loved me. I do love her but i can't judge if it will go further based on the very limited time we spend together You two need to talk! Good luck

Obviously he doesn't wish to have something more (more commitment) than he actually has with you at the moment. It sounds normal since you're both married..Maybe you should reconsider your own feelings for this guy and why he is your lover..

If he's already married, then his answer means that he already has someone who loves him = his wife, and all he's looking to you for is some extra fun on the side.

It probably means that he can't handle loving two women at the same time. Too much pressure.
