Excluding all the benefits of slavery, colonization, feudalism, the murder of the Native Americans and the fact that many western countries got wealthy by exploiting the Africans with the aid of Christianity as a brainwashing tool.

Good things:

- Charities
- Psycological Relief
- Hope, routine, an attempt of morals

I think Christianity can be a very positive force in the lives of many, especially those who are having a rough time. Some people just need something to cling to.

Bad things:

- Crusades
- Spanish Inquisition
- Salem witch trials
- Homophobia
- Westboro Church
- Judging
- Superiority complex
- Insisting to convert those who are not like-minded
- Hypocracy
- Insisting that facts, evidence, and theories contrary to its own are evil, wrong, and must be STOPPED

The darkest side of Christianity is its vanity. It HAS to be 100% correct and everything/everyone else is wrong! Some take this superiority complex to the point of causing harm

Sounds like you have your mind made up, but...

If you are dying you will probably go to a hopital that was founded and still funded by a Christian church.

If you ever find yourself in need of food, clothing, etc., you will probably seek out the Salvation Army, who will feed you and give you clothing.

If you ever find yourself a victim of large disaster you will probably be thankful to the Red Cross for all they do for you.

BTW - Western countries did NOT get wealthy by exploiting anyone. Slavery, etc., did not make America, nor any other country rich. A few slave owners in America got rich, sure. But America got rich because of the Christian immigrants who came and worked hard. You might want to re-read your history books. You also should realize that Christianity was one of the first religions to OUTLAW slavery (which STILL takes place in many non-Christian countries today). Not everyone who came to America was a Christian, and to say that Christianity brought about the murder of Native Americans is not entirely accurate. Much of what was done to the Native Americans was horrible, but Christianity is, at best, only indirectly to blame. As to feudalism and colonization: only in places where this has been done by Christians has this process been humane at all. These things have been done because of human nature, not because of Christian values. Christian values have caused us those doing these things to stop and rethink.

Human nature has brought about: slavery, colonization, feudalism, mass murder of various peoples, exploitation to others, while Christianity, given time, has brought about ending slavery and feudalism, intervening when genocides have been taking place, and empowering those who have been exploited.

If it was not for Christianity there would STILL be slavery in America, not the other way around.

Good question.
What most people have a hard time swallowing is that 'Christianity' and 'Christendom' are 2 separate entities, quite opposed to each other.
We should not be surprised to have seen corruption done in the name of Christianity.
Jesus said it would happen.
That's what his parable of the wheat and the weeds is all about.
Matthew 13:24-29
Paul said the same thing ...Acts 20:29, 30.
Real Christianity all but disappeared until the 20th century.
So blame atrocities on 'Christians' in name only.

No actual Scotsman is an casual fallacy, an advert hoc attempt to maintain an unreasoned fact.[a million] while confronted with a counterexample to a typical declare, quite than denying the counterexample or rejecting the unique standard declare, this fallacy modifies the situation of the particular fact to exclude the particular case or others like it by ability of rhetoric, without connection with any particular objective rule. using the term became progressed by ability of British reality seeker Antony Flew: think of Hamish McDonald, a Scotsman, sitting down together with his Glasgow Morning carry in and seeing a piece of writing approximately how the "Brighton intercourse Maniac strikes back". Hamish is taken aback and publicizes that "No Scotsman might do the variety of outrage". day after in the present day he sits all the way down to examine his Glasgow Morning carry in back; and, this time, nicely-knownshows a piece of writing approximately an Aberdeen guy whose brutal strikes make the Brighton intercourse maniac look almost gentlemanly. This actuality shows that Hamish became incorrect in his opinion yet is he going to admit this? no longer likely. This time he says, "No actual Scotsman might do the variety of outrage".[2] while the fact "all A are B" is qualified like this to exclude those A that are no longer B, this could be a variety of begging the question; the top is thought by ability of the definition of "actual A".

You won't hear about the vast majority of it. When one comforts another. Brings them food when the frifge is empty. Pays a utility bill for them. Cuts their grass for them. Gives them a lift to the store or doctor appointment. Visits them in the hospital.

The newspaper is not notified of this. You won't see it on the 6 o'clock news. These things are done, not to our glory, but for the glory of God. - and I wouldn't have it any other way.

You get wonderful things like this:
If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)
Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!" But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me." And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him. (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT (((Gotta watch out for those lions.)))

People getting fed, clothed and medicine from areas that it would be impossible otherwise, people who are hopeless being given a reason to live, people who have messed up their life being given another chance. God loves everyone but those who reject Him cannot live up to their potential and be happy. They may be happy for as long as the drugs or alcohol lasts then they are back to reality and unhappy.

You forgot to mention the Crusades, the Inquisitions, and the general torturing and burning of witches, heathens, infidels, unbelievers and homsexuals which went on for thousands of years in Europe.
