trustautostop is not correct, the Salem Witch Trials started in February and lasted till October 29th. A lot loner then two weeks.

Also Christians will never accept any responsibility, there are incidents all throughout their history, but they cannot see the link and simple accuse the people of not being "True" Christians. The problem is many of these not "True" Christians are saints in the Catholic Church and leaders of the Protestant movements.

very few, but I'm sure people rationalized them by saying they were protecting themselves from evil, and purifying the group by expelling evil forces from their midst. I'm not sure what went on, but a lot of people say the water was poisonous and created paranoia.

I love reading Nathaniel Hawthorne's work because he lives with the guilt of this period and wrestles with being a grandson of one of the judges, the most famous judge of those trials.

What Christian values were used during the 60s when many in the entertainment industry were accused of communists, and today when people are judged to be intolerant? I think every age must deal with paranoia and justice and standing up for one's convictions.

Too many people can get whipped up to a frenzy and do crazy things ---- some under the guise of religion! Like the KKK thinking they are all white and pure!== read below!
All the people on this planet Earth are descendants from the first couple -
Adam and Eve. We are ALL just shades of that same colour !

Hold a sheet of Real White and Real Black paper up against your skin.
I can tell you "for certain" that your skin colour matches neither of these
paper colour samples. We are all "off white - or - BROWN !

WE ARE ALL OF THE SAME COLOUR because we are all indeed
descendants of that couple. Because of protective pigmentation we
are of different shades indeed.

What a beautiful example of how OUR MAKER designed us and built
a protective system into our skins to protect us from the suns rays !

Few people realize that The Bible does not say anything in opposition to
what is referred to as "mixed marriages". This is precisely why.

If "mixed marriages" do not work in our society, as it is today, it is because
of the arrogance of man. To "prove" superiority they often use gross
misinterpretations of Bible passages or misapply a Bible passage to
make it look like it proves them correct.

it sounds like wierdgirl was threatened. well the catholics made a book about how withces were evil, the protestants also had thier dirty hands in it. Jax i love what you have to say i want to save it as a quote.

christians of today should be guilty for the past because HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF christianity was evil the minute it started and it remains as such today. I know who is evil and it is the christian church religion and bible.

vicsikix thats the biggest crock of BS ive ever heard. those that were victims to the witchtrials were women freethinkers, HEALERS and some were magic users. just another version of prejudice calling them christian to save face wont work this time.

during the salem witch trials, puritans were leading this heinous ridiculous "fad" there were no christian values protrayed inthe salem witch trials. they thought they were helping God get rid of evil....but um...I think GOd has a good handle on things. ya know, he's all powerful & "will not give us any more than we can bear." says scripture.

While I've been accused of being "old", I must confess that I was not present for those trials. Are you first finding out that not all who claim to be Christians follow Christ? Likewise, don't you think its time to wake up from your "guilty be association" mentality? If you want to reject Christ that is your choice. However, you can cite every deviant (who claimed to be Christian) that you want...it doesn't change who Jesus is one iota.

I've thought about that. Makes me wonder what exactly was going on there in that time. They must have been some very legalistic, demented, religious people. They were killing Christians accusing them of being witches.

No Christian values were being used. Fear was being used. However, the people were Christians, so someone had to manipulate their faith in order to gain acceptance. This is why we should condemn those manipulative people, not Christianity, for what happened.

LMAO they were killing in the name of god what Else..Christan's are always ready to talk about history when it suits their religion but when they are wrong( and have been many times) like when whole villages and towns are massacred by the church they are ready to "leave the past in the past" unless of course its about Jesus rising from the dead or preforming miracles then their more than ready to tell you all about their version of the past.

All of them..

Interesting fact:

All that malarkey happened within only a 2 week period. Reason took precedence over the situation rather quickly.
