Most of the psychologists/psychiatrists I've known were drawn to the profession because they had emotional problems they felt were solved by analysis.
A lot of them seem to get a kick out of using psychobabble to put their opinions across as fact; I'd say that counts as playing mind games, though I suspect they don't see it that way.
