Was it "terror" that was used or "consequences"?
The Philistines were Israel's enemies and opposers of God. They were rejoicing that fateful day at the temple because they felt they had won a great victory by finally capturing their enemy, Samson, who had killed so many of them. They wanted to make sport of him and torture him because they thought the final victory was theirs.
Yet, in Samson's faith, he knew God had not forsaken him. Samson, with gouged out eyes, and facing death himself, prayed to God to use him to accomplish a final victory over the enemies.
The reason that jail cells all over the world are occupied is because someone did something that required a penalty because he chose to do something wrong. Choices bring consequences. Good decisions bring good consequences. Bad decisions bring bad consequences.
If a child is unruly, they are corrected by the parent. If he grows to adulthood and is unruly, he is corrected by the law of the land.
So, what is it that "plumbs" anyone? It is the constraints of the particular sociosphere that they inhabit at that time, which encompass everything from the basis unit of society, which is the family, to government.
Parents make boundaries clear to children (or at least they should), and the consequences for not abiding by them. Society and civil government make boundaries clear to its citizens, and the consequences for not abiding by them. In other words, individuals are responsible to follow the dictates or be punished.
If a man robs a bank and is formally charged with the crime, he will pay the penalty, which is time in prison. Actions bring about consequences because there are moral codes of ethics in place that the world abides by. This is true of every civilization that has ever existed.
So is it true with God: "For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23
Parent's "plumb" their children. Society "plumbs" its citizens. God "plumbs" the world. I Corinthians 15 addresses this "plumbing" and how the world will be "plumbed" and who will do the "plumbing".
"Then cometh the end, when he (Jesus Christ) shall have delievered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that He (the Father) is excepted, which did put all things under him.
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." I Corinthians 15:24-28
"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" Revelation 20:4-15
Sometimes the consequences for the choices we make are severe...

"...I have set before you life and death...CHOOSE LIFE..." Deuteronomy 30:19

Why should atheists be "straightened" isn't this still America? cant we chose to worship or not as we choose? Just because someone doesn't believe in your religion doest mean their wrong or evil they just have different beliefs.
