I have a Baptism certificate which says I'm a Christian but I don't want to be one. Does it work like a Birth Certificate? If I destroy my Birth Certificate does it mean I wasn't born?

If you are a catholic, I'd suggest you write a nasty letter to the pope and tell him that you demand to be ex-communicated.
Oh and tell him this (from evilbible.com):

The Messiah must be a physical descendant of David (Romans 1:3 & Acts 2:30). Yet, how could Jesus meet this requirement since his genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 show he descended from David through Joseph, who was not his natural father because of the Virgin Birth. Hence, this prophecy could not have been fulfilled

If you feel that way about Christianity then take my word you are not a Christian and certificate doesn't make you and Christian anymore than a certificate saying you graduated makes you educated. Only by asking Jesus into your heart and believing that He died for you and rose again do you become a Christian. And once you do this you will not want to be anything but a Christian doing the work of the Lord

I think you're angry about something and are blaming being a Christian but you're not sure about the path you want to take. You became a Christian for a reason. I think you should figure out what is really going on with you and then make your decision. Being a Christian has nothing to do with paperwork or Certificates those are just for you to be proud of. Either you believe that Christ died for you or you don't. That is up to you to decide your faith and no Certificate can make you a believer. Sit down and think about yourself. Make sure this decision has nothing to do with any other person besides yourself. You are at a crossroad in your life and I hope you make the right choice for you. Good luck!

Sadly I don't know why you would want to quit becoming a Christian, but just because you have a certificate does not mean you are a Christian.

The only way you are a Christian is if you pray to God asking Him for forgiveness, admitting that you are a sinner, admitting that you know that Jesus died for your sins then asking Him into your heart.

If you have not done these things then you are not a Christian no matter what some stupid piece of paper says. It's just paper it holds no value what so ever.

Having a Baptism certificate doesn't make you a Christian. You aren't one.

Just because a certificate says you are a christian, it doesnt make you one. You are only christian if you say you are and you believe in Christ as your Savior. The certificate means nothing, its just a peice of paper. How you live your faith is what makes you a believer or not, a christian or not.

No, if you don't believe then you don't believe, that's too bad you don't want to be a Christian. The certificate is just a piece of paper what matters is what is in your heart.

You can only become a Christian because everyone is born a non-Christian, you have to be born agian to become a Christian, a piece of paper does not make you a Christian, Jesus Christ coming in your life does.

Isn't there something in the Bible that says if you leave Christianity then all your peers should kill you and harass you? Oh wait...wrong book, sorry. Carry on. Noone will put you in jail for exercising your religious freedoms here, thank God...oh wait, you don't have to do that either. This is getting confusing.

If you just have a certificate to say you're a Christian then you're not one.
