...even though the planet is irreparably damaged and world war three is unavoidable? Please, I know and love God, "Born Agains" need not answer if you are going to be self-rightious. Abortion IS an option, its not a "baby"--its a microscopic cluster of tissue. Why dont Catholics allow condoms already!? And I'm wondering, with the state of the world, if it wouldnt be better not bring more people into it right now?! Why dont people be truely self sacrificing and skip having their very own cute babies and "heirs" in favor of serving the planet and the almost 7billion people already on it? What will come to all these people being born now----especially to teen girls, and/or out of work, uneducated, generally unprepared, unhappy parents---in a world that is on the verge of collapse?? What FUTURE for them? Will THEY be able to have as many kids as THEY want!? NO!

WOW you've just about hit every point I could have thought of to not have a baby. I'm not ready and truthfuly, I don't think anyone really is.

But unfortunately, the world will not be better and we have to raise our children in it. It is what it is.

I wouldn't have another baby right now. Not because the world is irreparably damaged, but because I already have two young children, and my hands are full.

Abortion is an option for SOME, not all, and certainly not me. Saying it's a microscopic cluster of tissue is what you have been misled to believe. When I was seven weeks pregnant with my first baby, I saw my "microscopic cluster of tissue's" heart beating. I wasn't aware that non-living clumps of tissue have beating hearts that pump blood through their...what? Veins? Yes, that's right...that clump of tissue has veins!.

While I was baptized catholic, I no longer attend church because I disagree with many of the "teachings" of the church. I think they're hopelessly outdated. I believe they don't allow condoms because people are supposed to have sex to procreate. If you use a condom, you're not having kids. I often wonder how the catholic families with 6 or 8 children that they can barely feed manage to survive. I have an IUD. What would the Pope think about that?

The world is in a terrible state, and it's only getting worse. You actually think things will get better? If you don't bring a child into the world now, but you really want a baby, when are you going to have one? 10 years from now, when things are even worse?

We could just be like China and allow our citizens to have one baby. If you have a girl, sorry for you. But hey...ding ding ding...you get to try again for a boy! If it's another girl, you can have an abortion. WOO HOO!

How old are you, if you don't mind my asking? Do you have children? Is this some type of research project for your Sociology class at the local community college?

If the world is so horrible to the point that you think people should stop procreating, why don't you just kill yourself? You're obviously not a very happy person. What exactly is it you do to make this planet a better place (and no, recycling your newspapers doesn't count)? Seriously, what do you do?

Not only would I get pregnant but I'm three months pregnant and have a 13 month old son. My husband I know that there is no perfect time to have children. The war is never at peace and nothing is ever "just right". We feel that if we raise our children with morals and values, maybe they could be the ones to better our world. I agree teenagers shouldn't have children, it then falls on their parents to raise the child. As it is, my husband and I are serving our country trying to make it a better and safer place for our children.

If I was married and in a stable situation, I wouldn't see a problem with it. It doesn't matter what state the world is in, it's what that family makes it for the child and for the rest of the family. Family creates a sense of security, love and a number of other positive things. When the world is dark for me the 1st people I turn to is family. If we all take time to make our families better then we'd be able to make the person next to us a little better and if we all passed that on, we'd have a better world.

Yes I would, who knows what your child may grow up to be. There is a plan and pattern to everything and for everyone including every baby that is born. As far as helping the world be not having children. Ha Due to population control, the world is not being overpopulated , the death and birth rates for the world are holding fairly well. Try to be informed before you post stupid questions.

I would not personally have a child right now. I also already have two beautiful girls 11 & 12. But i do worry what it will be like when they are ready to have children. It is gettting tougher everyday to raise children in this world. But i beleive being a parent is the most rewarding and selfless thing we do if we do it right.

I think that everyone has there own opinions and most people will have kids no matter what state the world is in. They only think of themselves if they want a baby. Most people don't really know what they want for themselves so how can they know what they want for there kids? I think it all depends on what they think and what they want.

The reason Catholics don't allow condoms is because the Bible says, "go forth and multiply"

people tend not to adopt because the adoption criteria is very strict. you almost have to be a saint, a millionaire, or a famous person in order to adopt anywhere.
