Is it the hypocrisy in Christianity that causes you to doubt it, or is it your logic? If none of the above: please explain why you disbelieve?

II was raised Christian, and was saved and baptized when I was 22. But I always wondered why if god loved us all equally like Jesus said did the god in the old testament discriminate against women, have nations killed including women and children, why was he jealous, revengeful, hating his creation and so on. And please don't tell me that I do not understand or that the bible doesn't say that because I have read the bible. And the idea that the new testament changes that, (I don't buy that either), because I don't see if this is really the loving god Jesus talks about why he wasn't always loving even before Jesus. It seems to me that god went against his own commandments that he gave to us.

I have never thought even when I was a child that the people of all the other religions would go to hell because they did not believe or worship Jesus. I could not understand why since it is so hard to live a life as the example Jesus set (and we are not perfect like Jesus), that god would send us to hell forever if he really loved us only after one chance. This plus the hypocrisy of the Christians I went to church with made me re-think my religious status.

I started reading and educating myself on other religions, mythology, ancient sacred writings, the history of Christianity and the bible, the lost books of the bible, the dead sea scrolls, astrology, new age thought, physics, the unexplained mysteries of our world etc., and I realized that the bible (OT especially) was a collection of stories passed on by word of mouth for thousands of years before they were ever even wrote down. And I common sense tells me that they were not passed down for thousands of years in the same form that they started in. I see the similarities in the bible and other, so called Pagan religions. I read the Sumerian and Babylonian texts which are recorded by science as the most ancient writings in the world far older than the bible and came to realize that the stories in the bible had to have originally come from these texts, they are too similar. But the old texts have more than one god.

I researched Gnosticism and realize that they believe that the creator god/in the bible, was not the true supreme god but a lesser god and I think that that can account for the way he is portrayed in the old testament.

I do believe in god but not in organized religion or the Christian dogma, and I do believe in reincarnation I think it makes perfect sense and also accounts for the age old question "What is the meaning of life and why are we here".

It is logic and a lack of evidence. You simply can't explain the origin of complexity by presupposing a greater pre-existing complexity without ending up with a bigger question than you had to begin with. Why does this hypothetical infinitely complex creator god exist. Unless you refuse to think at some point that is all god belief leads to is a much bigger question than you had to begin with. The fact christians are so spectacularly hypocritical has nothing to do with the question of whether reality is created or not. Nor does the fact christians are so mind numbingly ignorant. Nor does the fact they are so close-minded. These have simply nothing to do with the question.

It seems to me the only answer to the question of existence which doesn't lead to infinite regression is not a creator, but the idea that nature as a whole must be profoundly simple and based on necessary mathematical truths. Local complexity then comes from selection mechanisms. In particular the fact that only in regions of local complexity can beings such as ourselves evolve.

I disbelieve for there is no proof of god but also view religion as a threat to society. It seems that the GOP and religious denominations mainly christians are out to turn America into a theocracy, that is something that I'll fight to prevent from happening

There is no credible evidence that supports the bible stories, including the Jesus myths.

It isn't a matter of "not believing," it is a matter of there is nothing upon which to base a belief.

The question is why do so many people continue to insist evidence supports the bible when the fact is no such evidence exists and bible belief is no different than Easter Bunny belief, or Santa Claus belief, or Bigfoot belief, or belief in any other unproven phenomena?

According to the bible thumpers, It is God who bestowed upon me a pretty sharp intellect. When I point it at religion and question the nature of things I'm told not to do that; just have faith.

Don't make me smart and then tell me to forsake it all in favor of blind faith.

So, my problem with God in general is both logic and hypocrisy.

Both. I live in a country , where Orthodox christianity is almost official religion, but here people cannot get into cathedral on holidays without invitation and church authorities sell alcohol and tabacoo, cause there is no taxes for them.

Logic and lack of proof and contradictions throughout the bible. I was brought up by a JW and an atheist.

Logic, Jesus (Peace Be With Him) is not God's son, because God created him, same way He created Adam (Peace Be With Him). And the death for sins thing, Jesus was raised to sky before being crucified, that's because no one has to die for our sins, God can forgive without having to put anyone through so much suffer and pain.
