My favorite is the Betty Crocker. Been using it for over 30 years.
But for some unusual recipes...check out local cookbooks from churches and civic groups like the Junior League.

I always use Joy of Cooking... it not only has great recipes, it explains information about food that I wouldn't otherwise know- cuts of meat, what happens when you bake muffins at a lower temperature, knowing when fruit is ripe, etc. It's a must have!
