30 Minutes My A**...lol. I have a couple of her cookbooks, it does not take 30 minutes. It takes 30 minutes just to gather the 100 ingredients most of her recipes involve. Did you notice how one meal can end up costing like $50.00 sometimes???? It's a cute concept but unrealistic. My sister and I watch her but have to have the sound off because she is so annoying.

I have, I am not quite sure what the whole big deal about "30 minute thing" is all of the sudden. I have been doing that for years, unless it is an all day long slow cooked meal. I always start my dinner at 5 pm and it's ready at 5:30. I usually have three things going on for each meal. Just takes practise to get some things done fast, learn the method of making your dishes being done at the same time, and well how she says get most of your things prepped in advance.

it took me about an hour... so much for the 30 minute deal... if i had some hired help to prepare for me than maybe it would of been a rachel ray 30 min, meal.

I always use her cook books and it takes me 25-40 minutes for each meal. Some of the recipes need more prep work, and since she's a professional, it's going to take her seconds to chop an onion the right way whereas it might take you and me 5 minutes.

no. I haven't. but I can say that learning to cook quickly is an art that you can master. You just need to learn to chop faster and you need to do things in the right order. For example, put the rice on to cook first. It takes 20 minutes. Once the rice is cooking, then start chopping the whatever.

She also buys a lot of preprocessed stuff like thin cut chicken breasts and preshredded cabbage.

Yes, I've done several. Chicken Curry in a Hurry, Caution Chili, and more I can't remember. I use them a lot when I work late. I can usually throw a good meal together on my own in that much time anyway.

you also gotta realize, she cooks these recipes at home first and has made them MANY times. she has the practice down and doesn't have to think of what she needs to do. just what stories to tell while she's chopping or cutting up things.

And the dude who TiVoed. She's cooking during the commercials too. They just don't stop and wait.

It will take 30 minutes only if you have everything laid out the same way.

My daughter has one of her cookbooks and IT DID NOT TAKE 30 MINUTES!! I guess it would if you had someone in your kitchen doing all the prep work for you.
