That would be so great!! But the canidate would have to stay away from selling out. We have so many that make it in politics because of our voting power, but then get tripped up with all the hoopla surrounding them. Henry Cisneros comes to mind, in this instance, he forgot where he came from. If you watched the Alma Awards the president of La Raza, a Latina, was so well spoken and her agenda sounded refreshing for a change. She would be a prime canidate, but I don't know her name!!? :( I think it is foolish to believe white old men are the only ones capable of running our country. I'm prepping my son for the great opportunity to become President of the United States, So Watch out America, He's Laaaaaaatino! : )

Of course, why not. That would just blow some people away wouldn't it? I also thought Collin Powell would have made a good president. The time is coming. Have lived abroad, neighbors are ethnic soup and one close is married to a U.S. citizen of another nationality. I suppose there will always be simple minded bigots around. It is up to the majority of us to undo their unkind voices. That is why America is such a great country. There is opportunity here in every generation.

I open to anything other than what we have in office right now!
But seriously, I can accept anyone who runs for president as long as they can handle the job. We need someone who can balance domestic and foreign issues and in my observations I think that can only be done by a woman (think of moms who work and run a household). It doesn't matter what her ethnicity is.
Unfortunately the idea of white supremacy runs deeper than the obvious and it will be a long while before any non-white is voted into the White House.
I think that house needs to be repainted - maybe a mural.

OH sure...why not? But I don't think Americans are quite ready for that. There are plenty of people in certain parts of the country who need to see a white man at the helm. They're just about ready for a woman. So it might be awhile yet, but theoretically, nothing wrong with Latino/a to be president as long as he/she qualifies.

Why? Maybe if there was a viable candidiate but what does skin color have to do with anything.
Wanting a Latino president simply for the sake of having a latino president is racist, short sighted and ignorant.

I'm sure it is just a matter of time. We haven't had a woman or a black or an Asian either...
But it will happen.
I'd vote for Powell. I don't know of a Latino/Latina I would vote for, right now. However, I can't think of any likely white candidates I want to vote for, either.

Sad to say this: But it will go in the following order: woman, black person, then a Hispanic (more professional to say than Latino).
But if the woman and black slack off, a hispanic woman will be the next president.

Whoever is best qualified & truly has a desire to help/run our country. Doesn't matter if they are white, latino, black, asian, whatever. Unfortunately, the race for us is always about picking the lesser of two evils.....
