First you need to remove the water. Urban legend says that you put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in your ear and lie down with that ear on a towel to drain. Then, apply either a hot water bottle, heating pad or warm ear cups. The swimmers ear should clear up within 48 hours.

They sell drops in the drug store called "aqua ear" well that is one brand. You put in the drops and have to hold your head to the side. Basically it's alcohol. I had this in January (in Australia) and the drops worked well. It really hurt!
