we want to spend 4-5 days on a boat around the Galapagos Islands. We realise that it won't be cheap but would like to go with a tour that's recommended. Any advice?

Sangay Touring http://www.sangay.com/main.html has received very high marks from members of our travel discussion group.

I searched the archive for Galapagos on this page: http://www.thetravelzine.com/TTarchive/index.html

Hope that helps!

There are plenty of activities in the Galapagos for all interests. Visitors can practice adventure sports such as snorkeling and diving, or simply enjoy tranquil strolls through the islands. Sometimes the Galapagos seas can be rough and that can make some passengers feel a little sick aboard. Most people find that standard motion-sickness remedies help to ease discomfort so this is a must for your packing list. For passengers who are known to suffer from sea sickness I suggest for choosing a more stable vessel such as a cruise ship or catamaran, or selecting a land based tour.

If you want to take a tour that is constantly on a boat (sleep while travelling to the following destination), there are only a few options and they are all expensive. They are definetely worth your money as it is the best way to get the most out of your time.
If you don't care, you can take a tour that is set on land (at a hotel) and then take boat tours everyday. I did this during my second visit to the Galapagos. I just bought a ticket myself, found a cheap hotel and then locally found trips to different places.
If you definetely want a good boat tour, don't risk it, get the tour at Metropolitan Touring (http://www.metropolitan-touring.com/) that's the best travel agency in Ecuador (and most expensive one).
