It's a conspiracy! The hot dog makers and bun makers have conspired to make sure you buy and waste more than you need.

Unless of course you need 40 hot dogs. Then you could just buy 5 packs of hot dogs and 4 packs of buns. No leftovers!

So you should only eat hot dogs when you invite 20 or so of your closest friends over to eat. I'll bring the potato salad!

I have often wondered this myself. Could it be because these products are sold by weight and 8 hot dogs weigh a pound but it takes 10 buns to make a pound? Don't know if this is right or not but its a thought.

Because the hot dog company has one person doing it and he cannot count beyond 8... He graduated from our Public School system in the top 10%

truly, i grow to be 4tunate 2 discover at Vons a equipment of Ball Park warm canines that had ate, a similar # of buns in yet another equipment. i wager not all warm canines or buns are offered interior a similar parts if u go searching. yet that is merely me.

I never realized this...ummm...maybe it so you can let the buns dry out and use it as crutons! Or feed it to the ducks...or put it in meatballs/loaf!!
