I freeze two liter soda bottles for in the summer when it's really hot. I place them in the shady areas I know the dogs like to be and replace them often. The dogs will curl up next to them. Other than that, dogs pretty much are able to figure out what they need on their own and they'll do what they need to in order to cool themselves off. Just make sure they have plenty of water available that you can place in a cool, shady spot.

I also have kiddie pools out and about and they'll often go lay in the pool or take a quick dip.

If the dog has shade, water you can also put a kiddy pool out side for the dog to get into if hot. A dog needs to grow accustomed to the heat over time also the dog should be brushed often so he under coat is removed for the summer months which will help keep your dog cooler. Remeber your dog has a fur coat on. If temp gets extremly hot the dog should be brought inside to a cooler location. consult your humane society for these guide lines

It could be this weather as my dog has been panting like mad recently with the heat and hasn't been very settled. He too loves going outside and sitting in the shade.

Just make sure there is lots of water down for him to drink and that it doesn't run out. He'll soon find a comfortable spot.

A wet towel of blanket can be a good few minute refresher, but don't leave it on for hours. It'll just trap heat & moisture under it to produce a sauna suit.

THe kiddy pools & fresh water ice are good iddes, also a battery fan if you have one. Or stick a idow fan blowing cool air from the house.

You seem to be doing everything you can - but if he doesn't cool down soon he may need to go to the Vet - you could try ringing for advice if you are really worried.

Basically spray him now and then with a fine mist. I put a brolly next to my dog the other day while he was sleeping outside, it did the trick.

icecubes. cold water & cold blankets are all good ideas. take him outside & spray him down with the waterhose.

I can also suggest buying viatimine water. (NOT PROPEL, but water from the viatimine asile in the midicane dept.) I give it to my cats. but if he wont drink it...put some in a dropper & make him drink it.

if that dont work......see a vet.

try wetting your dog under his leg pits, dont wet his back as this will just cook him and make him feel hotter. make sure he has proper shade. you could also put his bone in a bag in the freezer and then when he goes outside he can have it as a lolly.
