He has been shedding since it has gotten warm and even when you pick him up for only a few seconds he gets hair all over you. You can pull his hair or just pet him and send all of it flying everywhere.

Yes, it's normal. You could keep him brushed, that will help keep the amount of hair down. I have also heard, that the more expensive food has something in it, that will help with shedding, you might give that a try :) Good Luck!

It's amazing how much fur a cat can lose and not even be noticed. The best thing you can do to "control" some of the hair is to brush/comb your cat regularly and I also find it helps to wet the brush or comb. I have a long-hair and a short-hair (brothers). The long-hair I trimmed spots of his fur because they were all matted together about a month ago and the hair has almost grown back in completely. If you have a long-hair you may want to consider taking it to the groomers for a lion-cut. Otherwise, a cat can shed and shed and shed and shed and shed some more- it will not stop only slow down when fall comes.

cats shed year round, unless he is developing bald spots, its perfectly normal. He would probably appreciate a good brushin!

are you brushing it every day? if not yes it will shed all the time.

He is probably loosing his winter coat, but if it continues, he needs more vitamins in his diet.
