The Quadriceps, hamstrings & calves allow people to run fast.
The function of the quadriceps is to straighten the legs. Hamstrings' functions is to bend the legs. Claves' function is to raise the legs.
Basic Exercises include Squats for quadriceps, leg curls for hamstrings & Calves' raises for calves.

Twitch fibers in muscles. Slow twitch allows one to run fast for long periods of time and Fast allows for shorter distances...Tredmill or a bike. try and bike uphill its the best
