I think it is ver unfair. We never did anything bad to any of you, unless being to nice is a crime! We do not proticipate in polygamy anymore just so you know... and we do celebrate Christmas, birthdays, and so forth. We are just regular people, why do you hate us for our religion? Why can you not accept us for who we are? Ever since Joseph Smith started this church tghere have been mobs, and killings. Now people are more civilized, and that has ended and yet there is still whisperings, and threats. Why I ask once more? Can someone give me a good clean straight answer?

I personally don't have any prejudice against mormons. I think its the same kind of thing with Jehovah Witnesses, a denomination based on the teachings of a false prophet, and considering the incorrect end time predictions, it's obvious that we're talking false prophets here, at least to other denominations. Now I don't care, wouldn't listen to anyone who tried to foretell what Jesus Himself didn't know anyway, but I'm sure you understand why other denominations would be put off by that, and adding to it the old polygamy thing, its just leaves people with a really bad impression. Far as I'm concerned, as long as nobody tries to make me join them, I have no problem with mormonism.
Personally, I have noticed that the mormons I have met are extremely curteous and I really think that part about sending the young people away for a year of missionary work is fantastic.

As far as i can see i think people just fear what they don't know. As for hating Mormons? I'm sure there is a group or two out there who hates alot of things but for the most part people are uneducated so they push it to the side. Also like you said a name has been created from the past. Its ridiculous your question should really be why does anyone hate anyone.

I don't hate Mormons and never will. I think a lot of people get spiteful because the LDS have other books of scripture besides the Bible--they regard it as a big threat. Most Christians believe that only the Bible can be true scripture.

People hate what they are ignorant about and they like to feel Superior, that's sad human nature I am afraid and people are always going to criticise things they don't understand, it's coz they are too scared to look into it themselves in case they like what they see and that would make them objects of ridicule as well. I am not a mormon, or any religion to be honest but I respect other people's beliefs and think that every person has a right to choose which religion suits them best and whatever gives them comfort.

i do not hate mormons. i think you are entitled to your beliefs. what i do not like is people trying to shove their religion in my face (this applies to MANY religions). not everyone that is mormon does this but it does happen. oh, and not to be argumentative, but there are still small groups of mormons that practice polygamy. as far as the whispering and threats-you are not the only person who has to deal with it. every religion faces persecution at some point. i face the same problem because i have no religion. if your faith is strong enough, you will be fine.

I don't hate Mormons at all. Actually, I rather like them. Granted, I think it is a bit wrong to go door to door telling people about your faith, but I have never once had a Mormon tell me that my path is wrong. Every time a Mormon knocks on my door, I tell them that I am Pagan, and they actually LISTEN to my point of view and never criticize me for it. I have had some of the most civilized religious conversations with Mormons, so really, it's a joy to get to speak to people such as yourself.
So, you keep on being Mormon dear! I think you and your church are great!!

It is unfair, and you know what ...who cares? you shouldn't. Follow your faith and continue to be the good person that you are. Look at history; Jews were hated especially in Europe, Now in Europe you can't even get away with saying the holocaust didn't happen. Although their rules on freedom of speech are very liberal in other areas.
And for some they'll hate you regardless, unless you're exactly like them.

I do think that "HATE" is a very strong verb! People just don't like so much the different people and their different believes. Maybe it is because of your policy to give books for free on the streets. I don't know. I have a friend who is a mormon and he has never pushed me to do or read anything. Don't take it so personally.

i do no longer hate you. one among my very solid acquaintances takes place to be a Mormon, he's very a snort and usually makes jokes approximately his 8 better halves that are all named Linda and look precisely alike. he's an fairly stunning guy, in no way pressures everybody into growing to be a Mormon, or maybe particularly discusses faith all that sometimes.
