When I take my contacts out at night my eyes are moist and fine but when I wake up in the morning one or both of my eyes hurt and sometimes I have to rub them in order to open them because they are so dry, and usually bloodshot. Could my contacts be doing this or does anyone else know what might be wrong? I do not do drugs and I don't use RENU so its not that. Please help. Please don't suggest wearing my glasses they are at someones house that is no vacation and I cannot get them.

Check with your eye doctor. You could have an infection or some kind of sensitivity to your contacts and may have to change brands. It could also be the cleaning chemicals.

All contact lenses contain protein in their make to accommodate to the eye. It is important you use eyedrops for contact lenses. Even though they are moist at the end of the night, the residue from the protein left in your eye from the lens, will dry up and can even cause infections if not taken care of properly. See your optometrist.

You'll need to check wtih the doctor. It could be that your eyes don't go well with that particular brand of contact. Try putting some drops in your eyes after you take the contacts out and see if that helps with the moisture. You might want to switch brands of solution to one for sensitive/dry eyes.

Use eyedrops frequently. You're eyes are drying out majorly, and the sleepycrust is gluing your eyes shut because there is nothing to wetten it to make it less stick. After you remove your contacts at night, use eye drops, or even your saline solution for your contacts, and then rub your eyes thouroughly to remove any goo that may have accumulated throughout the day.

You might need to change contacts. Sometimes they just get to dirty or they just start to irritate you. I had this problem when I used to wear contacts and my doctor recommended I get the contacts that you dispose of once a week. They work better, its not as big of a deal if I lose one, and they were easier for me anyway. Also if you use hard lenses try soft ones. Good Luck!

The contacts could be doing this. Do you have astigmatism? That was my problem. My contacts were drying out my eyes so bad b/c of my astigmatism that I had to go back to wearing my glasses--and I tried a bunch of different solutions. Sorry.

Contact your doctor it could be that the type of contacts you have may not be allowing your cornia to breath properly there for giving you the problems you have in the morning.

Untill you get to your doc, eye drops and try not to wear you contacts longer than necessary. Give your eyes a chance to breath.

The contacts could be messing with your eyes, but another possiblity is that you're sleeping with your eyes open. I know it sounds freaky, but it really does happen involuntarily. That's what was wrong with me. you should see your optomalogist for drops or medicine

I would check with your eye doctor, and tell him/her your symptons. Your eyes might just be sensitive to the type of contacts you were prescribed, and you had a bad reaction. I hope your eyes get better.
