Prejudice is the propensity to pre-judge someone or something on the basis of stereotypes and not true knowledge.A person who is prejudiced is ignorant and has a need to build her/himself up by tearing others down.Unfortunately this is an all too common human condition.
Egocentric behavior occurs when a person thinks that the world revolves around him/her.They lack empathy,or the ability to understand and interact with other people.Since these people are not interested in the feelings of others, they do not see that they are harming others and are perhaps losing true friends because of their selfishness.Empathy is a learned trait, but in true psychopathic behavior(a medical/psychiatric condition that some people have, but not all egocentrics are psychopathic)it's a trait that can never be learned. Some people just are very selfish and don't care what others think;it's just another human failing.
