depends on where you were shot

The AK round is actually less powerful than some other common ammunition, but Cindy L had it right: head shot, pretty much instant incapacitation; vital organ, pretty quick. Like any military round, the design of the bullet is intended to produce wounds rather than kill outright. In a battle scenario, a wounded man will require assistance from at least two others to get him to a hospital. Then, there is expenditure of time and medical supplies to care for him. Then, he will be basically useless to the war effort until he recovers. The drain on resources is strategically useful to the enemy. A man killed, will just stay there until the battle is over. Much less costly. By the way, to Cindy L: I think I'm in love!

The AK-47 is a high caliber weapon, it's ammunition type is a 7.62mm x 39mm 1943. This bullet might be small, but its casket is not, it's got more gun powder, so the bullet is much stronger. The type 4 bullet proof protects 7.62 shots. But since the AK-47 has a low rate of fire and its recoil is just high. This gun will only be good at the hands of higly trained soldiers.

Since the Ak-47 doesn't have great accuracy, you might survive the first shot. But if rapidly firing, you stand little chance.

Word of advice: Try not to get into this type of situation in the first place.

It is deadly, after the first shot the recoil kicks in and u get less acurate but the first shot can be deadly.

J.D. is right. It packs a hell of a kick. I shot a REAL one in the Army a few years back (not these cheap ones out on the market). Hard to handle as it has a serious recoil. Hard to aim accurately, but if you get hit it will knock the living $#!* out of you. Small entrance, Large exit.

The ak-47 uses a small calliber amunition. It however spins forward, which can lead to a very nasty wound.

----scratch that, i was describing the m-16

Like being hit by a truck. The bullet will enter your body shattering bone and tearing muscle, simultaenously leaving poisonous infection behind it. It will leave a hole the size of a dime going in and a dinner plate as it leaves.

Don't recommend it.

depends on where the hit is, if it's a head hit, instant death, if its a chest hit and the bullet hits a armour vest, nothing. And it depneds on the distance and if you've got it on auto or not. always remember, 2 to the chest-1 to the head. then go for the hips and break him down.

That's a 7.62mm round and it's definitely gonna leave a scar.
Small hole at entry point... BIG crater at the exit wound.

If it just grazes you, not deadly at all. It depends on if it hit anything vital.
