Would like to learn Chinese language?

How many languages do you speak. How many did you go to school to learn and how many did you pick up on along the way.
I read, write and speak 7. Went to school for 2 and picked up the rest along the way. I am asking because I am planing to go travel to China and have found out that Chinese is one of the hardest languages to learn. Its almost impossible for learn chinese currently because i live in Mexico and there are no Chinos anywhere close to where I live, schools for chinese language etc. ........ Any advice.............

I only speak 3 languages, but that's because I am in insular, Ohio. I don't think I would enjoy learning Chinese. It sounds like a pain in the rear, but I also think it would be silly to learn it if I never used it. If you plan to go to China, learning Chinese sounds like a good idea. There are a lot of Chinese people there that speak it and they could help you practice unless they all just want to practice their English too. It seems like people only want to practice their English any more.... Learning German felt like a waste of time. Learning Spanish was slightly better...

I learned two languages other than my mother language in school.I picked up other two while I was staying abroad.But I am fluent in the first 3 and cannot speak the last 2 very well.I can read all of them very well.
