I went to work (at a restaurant no less) and came home to a nice smoke filled apartment. Didn't leave anything on the stove top, but there was chicken kiev in the oven. It was reduced to a charcoal log the size of a twinkie and had seemingly been permanently bonded to the pan it was cooking on.

I was boiling eggs and totally forgot about them until I heard what sounded like a gunshot from the kitchen. There was cooked egg all over the ceiling and floors. I didn't have a stove hood which may have been a blessing!!

Hi: It was post Christmas and had the turkey soup stock on.
Forgot, woke up to clouds of smoke and yellow clad firemen
at the door. I go undeterred. Ken

Every Thanksgiving I try to cook a broccoli and cheese dish and every Thanksgiving I forget it is in the oven and burn it black. I'm actually a pretty good cook, so every Thanksgiving I'm crying and my family is laughing. I don't know if I'll try it this year.
