Before they receive the holy ghost it has to be made up in their mind that they want to serve the lord. That can be a hard/scary thing. They may may no be willing to ask for it yet, but in time they will realize what you have and want it too. God knows the time for everything. Stay persistent in your prayers. My family doesn't have the holy ghost either but i am and will always be praying for them. As a word of encouragement i think one of my family members is starting to consider it. That gives me great hope. I believe pray works!

The Holy Ghost is awesome and it is meant for everyone! Just keep praying for your family and friends. Like a lot of people, they do not fully understand what it is, and that is probably why they are a little apprehensive about it. Keep your faith and let your light shine. Read your Bible daily, pray and fast for your family and friends.They will begin to see the new you and see the joy you have, and believe me, they too will want to experience it as well. No matter what, don't get discouraged and just keep the faith!

People aren't afraid of doing this. More like they don't believe it to exist, or at least not in the way you describe. The whole process looks more like fanatical belief than actual redemption. You can imagine those seeing fanatical belief in "receiving the holy ghost" would be disinclined to receive it.

The Holy Spirit is given to ALL who accept Jesus Christ as savior. If you are focused on the "baptism of the Holy Spirit" then you are missing the point OF the spirit. Check the "fruit of the spirit" found in Galatians... there is NO emphasis on speaking in tongues... that is A gift... but not THE gift!

The emphasis is LOVE!!!

Many people think that they have to basically stop living, they can only think of what they might have to give up and not what they may gain, a relationship with GOD.

So people are afraid to have a relationship with God, because they may think that they are not worthy, that they are to sinful to get near an angry God. They think they have to get better on their own, before they can come nearer to God.

Some people want to earn their way their way to heaven.

And some people just want to pretend that there is no God, so that they can do what they want on earth, and claim they they did not know about God at their judgment.

(FYI - I still do not have the Holy Ghost, please pray for me. Thanks, and God be with you.)

Some people are taught its wrong,go figure. I think a lot of people are afraid of yielding totally to the Holy Spirit, they are afraid of what people will think. I agree its a wonderful experience and serves many purposes. I'm happy for you.

Have you been baptized in the name of Jesus and received the holy ghost with the evidence of tongues, remember when he came even his own did not receive him that is why he gave us a chance. don't give up and keep praying for them.

SOme think it is hoky and not real. SOme are afraid to allow themselves to be in submission to God in such a vulnerable way. I was not scared but I was unsure of the path that led there and if I had what it took to get there. I had to realize that my part was just submission to God and He did the rest. Was I good enough? No but the blood of Christ was and that is what God sees.

Maybe, and or they don't want to be embarrassed. Becaue when you receive the Holy Ghost you are not aware of your actions. my aunt came out her clothes once, but she wasn't ashamed she loves the Lord. But she did have a slip and stuff on, lol
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :}
