Use Aveeno oatmeal bath powder and bath/shower oil for bathing. It helps with the itching;unfortunately there is nothing that prevents some scaring from happening.
Adults can contract chicken pox. There is a vaccine availablefor those who have never contracted the disease. If a person has had chicken pox, they are more apt to be vulnerable to develop Shingles in later life, since the body harbors the chicken pox virus for life(these are both forms of the herpes virus).

Yes adults can get chicken pox if they have never had them before. The thing with scarring is to keep them from itching and picking. That causes most of the scarring. You can use a paste of baking soda and water. That helps the itching some.Baking soda baths too.

If the adult hasn't had chicken pox yet, it is possible. And the older you are when you get it, the sicker you'll be. I don't know about any ointments, but the best thing for her is not to scratch. Try oatmeal baths.
