How seriously do you need the income? The real issue is how safe will your boys be? If there were a fire, an illness, a nightmare etc., who will deal with those things? A 13 year old is certainly old enough for day-time babysitting, but night time is a little different. Has your oldest son had any babysitting training? If not, that would be a suggestion. I have a single mom friend who works at night and leaves her 14, 12 and 9 year old daughters at home. For the most part all has worked well, except her 14 year old has been having boys over recently. Many issues to think about. Be sure you are at peace with your decision! Best wishes

No.
its not a case of wether you trust them or not. because they are children. they cant trust themselves. 8 years old is just too young, and the 12 - 13 yr olds? well, lets just say that 12 - 13yr olds arent like we were when we were that age. they have ALOT more to deal with. alot more pressures from peers. word will get around that they are home alone and there friends will be rubbing there little hands together. and goodness knows who else will hear of this and might be sickos.
i understand you must work. its hard being a single parent, but your children come first. depending on there personality type also, some kids can feel abandoned or frightened left alone.
if you must work, get a sitter, or a relative who is willing to voluntarily help out until u get day work. or have them stay over someones house or something.
please do not leave your children alone. it is not always safe, and it is not healthy. Kids want dad to be there when they wake up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. and they want to go to sleep knowing youll be there all night.

that depends on how much control the 13 year old has over the others.. It also depends on the child. if you make sure their asleep before you leave. Hell no it ain't safe. Anything could happen. Not a good idea. Weigh the situation out, is the four hours of pay worth what could happen? How much money could you make in 4 hours? Not very much I'll bet. Not worth it. A babysitter would cost almost as much as you'd be making. If you made let say $10.00 an hour, $40.00 then taxed are taken out a babysitter will take half of that.. Waste of time... Go to sleep and stay home with your kid's. Work your regular job.

You are in a bind. I think first I have to say I applaud you for being a single father. But I honestly would not feel comfortable leaving them alone even late at night. Not for 4 hours. There are too many what ifs. Not unless you have ADT and know they will call 911 in an emergency.

yes.. thats perfectly ok. especially if they are sleeping. Two teenagers looking after an 8 year old is good too.
ya gotta do what ya gotta do for those kids. Dont feel bad for wanting to provide for them as much as you can.
and ANYTHING can happen at ANY time during the day. Its a chance that you are goign to have to take if you decide to work these hours. Getting an alarm installed is a great idea.

No. Standard of living is a relative term, but company of the parents is equally important for all human children irrespective of economic status of their parents. You are both father and mother for them. Alternatively, why do not you leave them in hostels in India where they will groom into better human beings in the boarding schools which are Good Homes away from Home. US Dollar in India is 45 rupees, and at best you have to spend US $150 per month per child in the best available schools. In that case you can work more to spend more for your children's welfare.

If they are irresponsible, try having a relative stay over. Or hire a responsible teenager. The hours don't matter because school is out for most children and adults.

MAYBE, IF THERE SLEEP BY THEN THAN YEAH BUT MY CONSERN IS WHAT IF THE 8 Y/O HAS A NIHGTMARE AND STARTS SCREAMING AND KNOW ONE'S ONE OR ONE OF THEM ARE HUNGRY AND TRY TO COOK IN THE MIDDLE OD THE NIGHT AND BURN THE HOUSE DOWN. TRY FIXING UP FOODS FOR MID NIGHT SNACKS AND A LIST OF PHONE NUMBERS SO THEY CAN CALL IF SUMTHIN HAPPENS. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW MATURE THEY ARE. I GUESS YOU CAN SAY IT'S LIKE THE 12 AND 13 Y/O ARE BABYSITING THE 8 Y/O SO YEAH. GOOD LUCK!
P.S MAYBE GET A FAMILY MEMBER OR BABYSITER OR TRY TO CHANGE YOUR WORKING HOURS.

If the 13 is mature enough to do CPR, know all the emergency numbers and can get in touch with you at all times. Still at night they would be asleep anything could happen!
