there is no cure for this virus,but clinical symptoms can be supported through antibiotics .sufferers often do not survive,if they do ,many months later they suffer from fits,bladder and bowel incontinence and/or paralysis from which they recover very rarely.

You didn't mention any animal.. So I assume a dog.

Once someone gave us a puppy whose mother had died and the pup had distemper (I did not know). All my grown dogs got it and died one by one. Its was very sad.. they were howling. One was 10 years old.. I never forget it. All the adult dogs were properly vaccinated and that did not help. Better to put such animals down and save them the suffering. See link below:

My mom had it go through 4 cats in her house..They got it from a vet of all things..They all survived..but she had a big mess on her hands..
