Both my kids woke up at 6:00 am everyday. didn't matter what time I put them to bed the night before they still woke up at the same time. Don't mess with their naps that will just make them cranky. The older my daughter got the later she slept. She's now 7 and sleeps till about 7:30 - 8:00 my son is almost three and on a good day wakes up at 6:30 am....just be patient and as they get older they'll start to sleep later...

My son does the same thing. Pushing back his bedtime; eliminating naps; dark bedroom--I've tried all these and all it did was make him crabby from lack of sleep. He has an internal alarm clock that gets him up at 6AM, and I've accepted that I just can't change that. So I read the paper and drink coffee while he watches Blue's Clues and plays. Not so bad. I guess.

try a later bed time. my son whos 3 goes to bed at 9:30 everynight. also limit his naps if he is still sleeping. let him sleep no more that 2 and half hours. too much sleep during the day can cause this. also try to do very active activity near bedtime. go for a walk around the block say ay 7pm. or go to the park and let him run and play. this is what works for me good luck

What time does he go to bed is my question to you?
Little guys need about 10 to 12 hours sleep.
If he gets up before that-
Keep putting him back in bed.
He may need more exercise in the day so he is more sleepy at night.
If he takes a nap in the day try and eliminate if he is getting enough sleep at night
Good Luck!!!!

Mine's doing the same thing. He goes to bed at 8 every night, but even if I keep him up late, he still gets up at 6. But we've told him and told him that it's okay to get up and get a toy, but get back in his bed to play until Mommy or Daddy come get him. And he does. Just don't leave crayons within reach, because our walls are now toddler art.

I remember wishing my little ones would sleep longer so I could sleep longer. I tried keeping them up later, cutting down on their nap times and other things but nothing worked. I just gave up and started going to bed earlier myself so I could feel rested getting up with them. Turned out to be a wonderful habit for all of us. You'll find it great too. It won't be a struggle for your son to get up and get ready for school in a couple of years if he is accustomed to getting up early. You'll find you get more done in the day when you get up early.

put him to bed earlier and reduce naps and also cut down sugars during the day because they act as a stimulant which means they make you hyper and then suddenly without warning you "crash" from the high causing drowsiness
