I believe the Fundamentalist politicians are extremely dangerous on a variety of levels. Their willingness to sidestep the Constitution puts our Democracy in deep peril. The very fact that Bush announced that God wants him to be president makes me cringe in frightful anticipation. The very fact that there were unresolved questions about the legitimacy of the last two elections indicates that we may have been silent witnesses to a coup (SP?). The basically unilateral actions of this government
when starting the Iraqi war on the basis of non-existent WMDs shows the lengths to which the Fundamentalist will go to achieve greater power.
All these actions, and more. are mitigating greater hatred for the US. Muslim moderates are joining their fundamentalist brothers to protect themselves and their land from American rapacity. Their hatred grows and their willingness to commit violent acts also grows.

Nice "bushism."
They're both dangerous. Fundamentalist terrorists do immediate and short-term damage through bombs and other acts of terrorism. Fundamentalist politicians do slow and long-term damage by eroding our fundamental freedoms, building up a deficit that our great-grandchildren will have to pay off, and hurting our position in the world through inane foreign policy (which makes more fundamentalist terrorists want to harm us).

LOL at the quote. Politicians are always more dangerous, fundamentalist politicians are more dangerous by several orders of magnitude. All a terrorist can do is kill you. Politicians can make you a prisoner in your own country.

they're both evil
bush is only going for the fundamentalist evangelicals since a. thats the majority of the country and b. this way he'll get TONS of votes for the republican party
the country is too divided; liberals and conservatives both are pursuing their own agendas, rather than whats better for the country
however i do believe the war in iraq is a step in the right direction.. if we dont destroy terrorism, our kids will be fighting this war

I guess it depends on what fundamentals the politicians are clinging to. For instance, there's a huge difference between a fundamental communist and a fundamental capitalist.
If it were up for grabs between a fundamental communist and a fundamental terrorist, I'd say the communist is worse because they drag out the suffering and a terrorist just gets it over with. Or am I being insensitive?

Terrorists... they are harder to find and incapacitate. That's the whole reason this war in Iraq is such a nightmare... If we could have found Osama and Zarqawi right away along with their immidiate successors the war would have been much easier to end quickly.

With the politicians at least we have a chance to fight. Terrorists take your life without warning.

Compare how many innocent people have been killed by terrorism in the past three years. Then look at how many innocent civilians have died in Iraq during the same period. I think that figure would be quite telling

Both groups can be, are equally dangerous - that's the problem. Both groups are very likely to be around for some time - that's scary.
